We ran into the same problem and eventually decided on food trucks! Right now, we have Mexican booked, but we are debating a pizza truck, which would include gluten free crust, to accomodate all our guests. Both are unlimited amounts, with sides (rice, beans and salad!) and we paid $1600 for 3 hours. The pizza truck is about the same, and also endless pizza and salad, plus gelato and coffee and espresso, for 3 hours. The taco truck already let us know that in lulls, he tells his staff to go in and bus tables, and will teach my bartenders a “signature margarita” if we so choose, for no additional. We are so excited, the food is DELCIOUS, and its out of the box and memorable. I would highly recommend looking it in your area. I am in CT but I know they are pretty easy to find most places.

Definitely not! One of the best parts of my wedding day was having the freedom to fully enjoy and participate in everything…without having to worry or fret about the logistics I had spent months coordinating. I can’t imagine how a self-catered wedding would give you the breathing room you’re going to want. If this is the only way you can do it, I would prep as much as possible beforehand and hire some staff to serve, heat and prep the final/day of items. You definitely don’t want to be working or organzing things on your wedding day!
