I’m thinking of going this route as I’d like to get save-the-dates out in November and our engagement session isn’t until the day before Thanksgiving.
I don’t really want to send them out in December due to the holidays.
So …I’ve thought about just sending out save-the-dates without a photo. I’ve found some really cute ones. Has anyone else done this?

We did. We didn’t do our e-shoot until 3 months before our wedding. E-photos on Save-The-Date Cards are totally optional.

We didn’t use a photo on ours. We didn’t do an engagement shoot. The photo doesn’t matter as long as people know to save the date!

I’m considering it…these are the STD’s that match our wedding invitations, I’m going to work with the company to see what they can come up with that matches our invitations and includes a photo, but not sure I’ll like the out-come. So I might just send them w/out a photo 🙂

@regit45: We sent ours out without any photos of us on them as we opted not to spend the money on e-photos. Everyone who received one has mentioned how ‘pretty’ and ‘classy’ they were. I don’t think anyone missed staring at photos of us on their fridge. 🙂
Or as my fiance said to me when I was regretting not having trendy e-photo save the date magnets: ‘if they need a photo to remember who we are they shouldn’t be coming to the wedding’ haha.

Ours had a picture from our engagement shoot, but we’ve received plenty without a photo. I don’t think it’s a big deal either way, as long as you get your point across.

Ours did not have photos either. They matched our invitation stationary. We loved them and tons of our guests loved them too!

@regit45: Our save-the-dates did not have a photo – it’s more elegant and classic that way to me.

We got our save the dates monthsssssss ago because we had a groupon for vista print. No picture is on the STD. HOWEVER! We just had our engagment shoot on Sunday, and plan on getting small magnets made with one of the pictures, and attaching that on to the back of the STD.

We considered not using one! The only reason we did is so family who hasn’t met either of us yet would be able to see us ahead of time. We realized later we could have just put the pictures on the website, but we were already committed. We couldn’t afford pictures and it was last minute so my mom took our picture at our church pumpkin patch and we are sending them out just in time for Thanksgiving. So if you wanted or were set on a picture, you could find a friend or family member that’s good with a camera and have them snap a few. Ours came out really well!
but back on topic… Yes! Pictureless Save-The-Date Cards can be just as awesome as ones with pictures!

@regit45: No photo here. We didn’t do our engagement pics until 1.5 months before our destination wedding.

@springbride23: Haha I love that!!
Ours won’t have a photo- I actually kind of like it better that way.

@regit45: There’s no photo on mine. I scored 100 for $13 (including shipping) via a Vistaprint deal of the day promo. They are simple but hopefully effective.

I don’t even know if we’ll get e-pics done. Our Save-The-Date Cards will not have a photo.

@kellynn323: Those are so pretty, just love them!
@regit45: We had engagement photos but went with these for our Save-The-Date Cards:
I liked the layout, but loved that they were magnets. Huge hit among the Swedish guests that had never seen anything like it before.
