I was going to go without a veil and just wear a flower in my hair for my Destination Wedding.  At the last minute I had my mom make me a veil cause I knew I would regret it.  There is only 1 day in your life you can wear a veil (that is publicly acceptable) so I say go for it!

I was also not going to wear a veil. I ended up wearing one and I have to say it was by far my favorite accessory.  Like Lily_of_the_valley:  said, when else are you going to wear one?

I guess I’ll give voice to the other side. I’m not particularly traditional either and we had a fairly casual and very festive wedding. I never even considered a veil… It just seemed too fussy and formal. I had a delicate floral crown instead and no regrets here.

Have you tried one on? I knew I didn’t want one but tried one anyway and sure enough I was right, it made me feel claustrophobic

No regrets here. I felt like a snow beast when I tried one on, so I stuck with just flowers in my hair.

MsJ2theZ:  Exactly how I felt! I had a flower in my hair and that’s it. I thought people would comment but not one person did.

I’ve decided not to have one because my dress already “makes a statement” on its own and I think a veil would actually spoil the look by being too much. I don’t think I’ll regret it, my mum didn’t have a veil either (she had a flower crown).

my wedding was not too traditional and to be honest I never even really thought about wearing a veil! I made my own flower for my hair and wore that! No regrets 🙂
