My office was doing a ton of interviews because we had a huge order that needed to be filled. We had about 25 ppl scheduled on the calendar to come in to my office for interviews. I was super uncomfortable but went it. My coworkers were nice enough to suggest they do the interviews and drug screens and I just answered the phones and did more admin tasks. Well we were asked to find the same amount of people to start Friday which I said I couldn’t do. I’m not comfortable being in a 1500 sq foot office with that kind of foot traffic.
Upper management told me there was no option for me to work from home so I’m on maternity leave like 3 weeks early. It makes me mad they couldn’t accommodate me (bc they easily could have, they’re just being difficult) but I did file for short term disability.

Pretty high at this moment.
One of my colleagues was tested positive for COVID 19 this morning. I am kinda freaking out here. I am put on a home-quarantine till next Friday.

I am still working in my office. I am a counselor, we cancelled our groups and face to face sessions and now it is telephone sessions only.

sarathemermaid : I am sorry to hear about your premature leave. At least you have a better chance of not catching it in the next few weeks. Wishing you the best delivery and a healthy baby. The economics of this is going to be so far reaching .
Its good to know you have such wonderful coworkers!

Thank you. It’s definitely been stressful but at least I don’t need to worry about getting the virus.

My office finally went to WFH optional starting tomorrow, after a borderline revolt from all of us yesterday. There’s no reason why we can’t WFH when we’ve been set up to work remotely from day one.
That being said, I think it’s too little, too late. One of our attorneys is out today with a high fever, cough, and body aches. She plans to have a telehealth consultation this evening to tell a doctor her symptoms so she can determine if testing is appropriate. If she has it, we are all screwed, because our office only spans one half of the floor of our office building – it’s quite small with lots of communal spaces and equipment.
Stay safe, bees, and try to advocate for yourselves when you can!!
