I would have LOVED to, but Darling Husband didn’t want to. (As a result, our first dance was incredibly awkward- neither of us are dancers at all, lol.)

We did.  we took private lessons and it was sort of fun but sort of stressful.  We waited till the last minute so we had to cram 4 lessons into about 3 weeks right before the wedding.

We decided to doo a loosely choreographed dance.  Some parts were improvised and some parts were choreographed.  We had a great time dancing at the wedding.  If anything, the lessons gave Darling Husband more confidence to try different moves.

We are starting Nightclub 2 lessons on the 8th for 6 weeks! Fiance isn’t thrilled but I think it will give us both confidence on the big day, I’m sure he will thank me later! We are taking a group class and my mom and her husband are taking it with us!

I am kind of because my Mil is cuban and we will have tons of salsa at the wedding. I been to drop in classes with and without my Fi. I say do a search in your area, or find place/club that host a salsa/other type of ballroom dancing night. Typically it’s ten dollars or a little more, you get anywhere from an hour or two hour lesson, and it helps with basics of any dance like partnering and knowing how to lead and how to follow. I’ve done this is three states because I am all over and it’s been fun and valueable, and I’m guessing it may be cheaper then taking private dance classes, or if you don’t have the time to do lessons all the time.

We took about 5 or 6 private lessons and tried to learn the Viennese waltz from scratch.  It was a little stressful.  We wound up pulling it off ok during the wedding, but we weren’t completely comfortable and we skipped some of the harder-for-us moves.  We should have made more time to practice but it was hard to fit it all in around the rest of the wedding planning.

ETA: We did have fun taking the lessons together, regardless.  So I think it was worthwhile to do.

Fiance and I started lessons about a month ago for our May wedding. It’s a little early but we’re both busy so we only have time for one hour a week. and We’re also taking a 2 week break for the holidays so I’m glad we’re starting early. We love love love our time together at lessons! It’s so fun to learn something new together and I’m going to love showing off at our wedding 🙂
