Has anyone responded better to Femara after not responding much with Clomid?
I’m on a financial break from treatment right now, but I’m researching my best options for when I go back. I didn’t respond much to Clomid… and I don’t want to keep trying risking the cysts when it’s not doing anything to help.
I’m looking at Femara (can’t find any price info on it as compared to Clomid) and also the possibility of combining Femara with Bravelle.
Anyone with experience or suggestions?

When I started fertility meds 3ish years ago, I was actually started on Femara. My doctor said that it was starting to get better results than Clomid.
My step-sister was able to get pregnant with Femara when Clomid didn’t work for her.

I don’t have anything to add, I just wanted to comment to follow.

@Candy_Nee: thank you! that’s just what i was looking for.
did you take it the same way as clomid (cycle day 3-7 or something)? do you remember if it was around the same price or more?

I got pregnant my first cycle on femara after clomid didn’t work. I also did acupuncture that same month so it might have been a combination of things.

@rosworms: Yes. I took it like days 3-7 or something like that. For me, because it wasn’t considered a “fertility drug” it was covered by my insurance. So, I just had my co-pay, which didn’t cost me much.

I did a few cycles of clomid – then femara but neither worked.

I was switched to Femara after Clomid thinned my lining and got a great response.

my first iui cycle was canceled because I responded way too well with clomid. When I didn’t ovulate the next month I was put on femera. After two cycles of femera and iui I am now 17 weeks preggo. From my understanding femera helps give a better lining than clomid and produces fewer but better eggos. Good luck!
