@Utopia4us:  I “sort of” tried it the cycle I got pregnant by drinkining Fertilitea (which has Vitex in it).  I had a pretty short luteal phase, low-ish temperatures, and spotting before AF the 2 cycles before I used it, so of course I was all, “OMG I AM INFERTILE!!!” (which was probably completely irrational…but a short luteal phase with spotting when you first start charting is frustrating nonetheless!). I also had 2 27-day cycles on the dot but didn’t O until CD17 and CD18 the 2 cycles before Fertilitea, so I bought that and VitB complex hoping that they would make me O earlier and lengthen my luteal phase.

I started drinking Fertilitea around CD4 or so? And kept drinking it almost every day until I got my temp shift, then stopped.  I was pretty pumped when I started getting a TON of EWCM around CD12 and thought that maybe it really would make me O earlier! However, I had EWCM for EIGHT DAYS in a row and did not get a + OPK until CD18 and didn’t get a temp shift until CD20! Ahhh so then I started freaking out because I think it actually made me O even LATER! When I got a huge temp drop and started spotting HEAVILY on 8 DPO I thought it was just my period starting and that my body was stuck on a “I need to have a period every 27 days regardless of when I ovulated.”  I was pretty crushed that the Fertilitea and VitB complex didn’t seem to work. However, the next 2 days my temp went back up…but I was still spotting and it wasn’t a cute-sy, only when I wipe, little streak of brown.  At least 1 time during the day of 8, 9, and 10 dpo I had red blood dripping into the toilet.  I had zero pregnancy symptoms so I literally thought there was no way I was pregnant and I was angry with myself for possibly screwing up my cycle even more by taking supplements.

But those temps going up……even though I was still spotting, I decided to POA wondfo on CD10 in the afternoon after no sort of hold whatsoever.  It looked stark white after a minute or so, so I just tossed it in the trash thinking to myself that I was still crazy for even having any doubt that my period wasn’t actually starting. The POAS addict in me decided to dig that test out of the trash that night and I thought I saw the faintest line ever (of course this was many hours after, so I was thinking it was just an evap line and still wasn’t convinced).  I told myself the only way I would do an FRER in the morning is if my temp was still up and I wasn’t spotting.  Well both happened so I POA FRER on 11 dpo with FMU and got a super obvious BFP.  I was completely shocked–there was NO WAY I could actually be pregnant with that much spotting and bleeding??!! Well, the spotting stopped completely and here I am at 20 weeks pregnant and everything is going well!

So in conclusion, I can’t say if it was the Fertilitea with Vitex in it that helped to get me pregnant, but I can’t say that it hurt either.  It also might have been just the VitB complex or the fact that I was on Christmas break and much less stressed out.  I don’t know, but I do know that the Fertilitea blend probably helped to give me CRAZY EWCM, so I did love that about it.  I do think it probably made me O later, though, so I just don’t know!  Before I got my BFP, I was really angry with myself for probably screwing up my cycle, because the book The Impatient Woman’s Guide to Getting Pregnant (which I didn’t read until AFTER I started drinking Fertilitea) says that you shouldn’t add anything until after 6 months of trying because it might do more harm than good.  So I can’t give any clear cut advice about it, besides the Fertilitea tasted awesome and once again, it may or may not have led to me getting a BFP the cycle I started using it.  The reviews on Amazon were also like, OMG yes I got pregnant the first cycle I used it! Which I was very skeptical about..but I suppose I could probably jump on there and mimic those reviews! πŸ™‚

Good luck, I hope you get your BFP soon!

Sorry for the super long post! :-

@Utopia4us:  I ordered it off of Amazon, which is also where I saw all the great reviews.  And thank you!! πŸ™‚

I was prescribed Vitex/Chaste Tree by a naturopath and started taking it one month before becoming pregnant. I also started accupuncture around the same time. Can’t say definitively that it made a difference, but that was my experience. I had very long cycles, sometimes anovulatory and mild PCOSish symptoms.

Ohh, and I’ll also add that I drank it either twice a day or doubled the recommended amount if I only drank it once a day.  And it is loose leaf tea, and the infusers were super annoying and would spill out little leaves, so I would just put the leaves right in hot water and let it steep for a while, then pour that water through the infuser to filter it but not submerge the infuser in the stuff I actually drank.  I was actually surprised at how good it tasted and I kind of miss it now, to be honest!  Haha πŸ˜› But they clearly state on the package that you should probably stop drinking it after you ovulate and you shouldn’t drink it while you are pregnant. It was good stuff! There are over 200 reviews on Amazon for it, most of them good!

I used it and it worked a treat.

Had somewhat irregular ovulation/cycles for 6 months, then started taking vitex, and voila: cycle 7 much better, cycle 8 ovulated on the spot on day 14 and fell pregnant that cycle!

I did a lot of research before taking it, mainly on German websites (where I’m from). It is widely used and has a very good reputation in Europe. As someone said before – the worst thing that can happen is that it doesn’t do anything for you. It won’t hurt you. But there is a lot of evidence that shows it helps a lot of women.

Good luck!
