I’m excited to start TTC in March, but am a little worried my cycle will be all over the place and wondering if anyone else has done what I have… Over the years I’ve manipulated my cycle to avoid AF on holidays, my honeymoon etc. I now experience some breakthrough spotting mid-cycle while on bcp, and am wondering how long it will take me to regulate once off bcf.
Anyone else change their AF while on BCP, and then get regular soon after when TTC? I’m praying I didn’t delay my chances at a BFP by further complicating things…?

My cycle was normal immediately after going off the pill and I skipped my period all the time, just to avoid having it. I would skip every second one.
Now, it took us awhile to conceive but we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. But it had nothing to do with my cycle.

I’m sorry to hear about your unexplained fertility <3 Good to know that your cycle returned to normal after the bcp, thanks for replying! 🙂

I used to roll packs together all the time to avoid having inconvenient periods (assuming that’s what you mean?) and my cycle was normal straight away after coming off the Pill (after 14 years on it). I conceived on cycle 3 – currently 31 weeks pregnant.
Best of luck on your TTC journey! x

Yes I used to all the time. I came off the pill in August and got pregnant in December.

I was in a 10 week cycle on hormonal contraceptives (run 3 lots together, off for one), I’m just starting to chart. I’m cautiously optimistic that I’ll be ok from a natural cycle point of view!

My cycle was irregular after coming off BCP, but I fell pregnant 5 months (6 cycles) after. It had not regulated, suppose I just got lucky.

I went off BC at the end of November to start TTC in May. I would occasionally skip my period and I was on all kinds of different pills and the nuvaring over the years. I‘ve had two full cycles so far, exactly 30 days, but I ovulate late (cd 20-21) so my luteal phase is short. Dr said I still have three months so it should regulate by then…
It sucks to use condoms, but my advice is to go off BC sooner so that your body has time to regulate.

I don’t roll them together, but I’ve changed the dates of my withdrawal bleeds (aka my ‘period’) by taking pills for two weeks instead of three, bleeding, starting up again etc. Congratulations on your little one! xx

Good to know, thank you for your suggestion! xx

It really shouldn’t matter. Any bleeding you have on BC pills is medication induced. It’s not equivalent to a natural cycle.
If you choose to go back on birth control pills in the future it would make more sense to skip the “placebo” pills all together and move to the next pack vs stop a pack early to have a “period.”
