@peachykeener: I’m 21 also, dating SO for over 3 years, and practically living together currently, so no, you aren’t alone!

I will say that I don’t relaly know anyone my age who wants to get married or is even thinking about it, but I think that proves that girls like you and I are much more mature than most girls our age.

Also, my SO and I have a very “different” relationship and so I always feel like we are paving our own way. We were not high school sweethearts, as most couples my age that have been dating 3+ years are, we started dating when I moved away to college. He is 31, also. Another thing is that I am a virgin, and he is not, and we practically live together already and are talking about picking a new place together in March, I would expect a ring soon after. I may be the only virgin ever who is willing to live with her SO before marriage. Weird, I know.

As far as marriage goes, I am concerned more about his age than mine. I don’t know what age I will ever feel ready for children, but I don’t want him to be 40 once I am ready to try, you know?? Either way, YOU AREN’T ALONE! I’ll be your waiting buddy, message me anytime, I would be happy to have a friend my age who is thinking about marriage. Remember, life is what happens when we are busy planning.

I’m 21, and my husband is 24. We started dating when I was 16 and he was 19. We were turning 17 and 20 that year. I wouldn’t have considered myself waiting at the time, cos a) I didn’t know what the term meant before Weddingbee haha, b) the engagement was a complete surprise, and c) I was originally going to propose to him. He got in first, so my plan failed, haha.

It’s different for everyone. From what I can see here, no one is judging you. Who cares if they are? You know what you want, which is great. We’ve only been married two months but it’s been the best two months of our 5 year relationship.

No two relationships are the exact same. There are always different circumstances in every relationship. Take each day as it comes, and remember, your time will come. It is absolutely worth the wait, just don’t push him into something he isn’t ready for. It doesn’t seem like you are, which is good.

Best of luck to you guys 🙂

@peachykeener:  I am under 25, though I am turning 25 relatively soon. SO is younger than I am. We’re in no rush. Originally I found this board because of the LDR section, but I ended up staying for other community aspect.

I know how you feel! I’m 21 and Fiance is 25. We got engaged about a month ago on our year and a half anniversary. I was always scared to post on the waiting boards because of my age and our relatively short relationship. Anyway, rest assured you aren’t alone!!

I turn 21 in a couple of weeks and have had the bug for a while now haha. We are waiting for me to finish studying more than anything else. My SO is 30, has the bug too, and is well-established with a house. I definitely think people judge when you mention your age. They pick up on the age gap too, but I try not to let it phase me.

@peachykeener:  I’m 28 and I’ve been with my partner on and off since I was 19 (he was 21). We weren’t ready to get married then, but we are now. We got engaged 5 months ago when I was 27. I never considered myself “waiting” 🙂

The youngest a friend of mine has got married is 25 – a lot of my friends have got engaged this summer actually! Aged 28-29.
