@fvsoccer:  Das frau trinkt oragensaft!  I just started the German one.  I need to test my French and Spanish.  I think we can compete against each other…my name on it is peachacid.

Oooh!  I’ll join for Italian.  There’s a great iPhone app called Mind Snacks that has games in different languages for learning – I’d recommend that too.

I am making so many stupid small mistakes in French that I’m getting mad over here!

I just made it through German basics! I’d love to join you guys :). I took a year of German my senior year of high school, but it’s been a long time.

Neat! I signed up for Italian since my department suggested I learn it for my dissertation.

I study languages as a hobby. I’ve just started Spanish, but since I already speak French, it doesn’t make sense to really study the grammar (so similar, plus studying grammar is boring) so I’m reading some Ramona books in Spanish. I just push past the words I don’t know until I see them over and over again and then they sink in. Once I “graduate” from kids’ books I’ll move onto juvenile fiction and then simple mysteries and what not. And when I have time I’ll watch TV in Spanish. That’s my plan; we’ll see if it works! I got my French to a high level by massive exposure (books, books, books, audiobooks, TV shows).
