After we’re hitched and we’re walking to the bar I want to play something very loud and fun, like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWL1jbUYfsg or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5axvmj6fVQ. I’m sure fiance will nix it but curious if anyone else did anything untraditional or geared more toward just you and fiance rather than the crowd.

I can’t see those videos that you posted at work, darn filter! However I have a friend, who after they announced them to the reception for the FIRST TIME EVER as Mr &Mrs .. busted out with Usher’s- Yeah….. has anyone read those lyrics!

For our recessional we wanted something fun, upbeat and hilarious.So….I suggested Hotel California, The Traveling Gypsies version from The Big Lebowski.
I’m sure 75% of the guests were like what the heck? But hey we loved it and every time we watch our wedding video we crack up.
We used Yeah! By Usher as well for bridal party announcements and it actually worked out really well. During the announcement each couple came out doing their own funny act.The song is really upbeat and fun! The main reason why we used it is from it’s used in the movie Hitch. Hilarious.
Just went to read the lyrics for the first time. And yea, I’m not sure I understand what the song is about! But the music is good. 🙂

@HisIrishPrincess: The first one is the Squeek E. version of My Boy Lollipop from the Whip It soundtrack and the other is Vengaboys “Boom, boom, boom”

Oh dear. Well, we’ve tried to keep the music family friendly for the most part, but Fiance and I both like our fair share of nasty songs 🙂

Does “Let’s Get it On” count as inappropriate? Because that’s what Fiance and I want as a our first dance song.

I wanted to walk in to Big Pun “Still Not a Player” but I’m prob going to end up picking something a little less explicit.

We’ve talked about playing some kind of inappropriate ones as a joke, like Golddigger and Tequila Makes Her Clothes Come Off.

FH really wanted Indigo Swing’s arrangment of “Violent Love” as our last song. Our choreographers and I put our collective foot down and he settled for a much … more … polite “Why Talk About Love?” from the Andrews Sisters.

We had the following songs played acoustically during our ceremony:
Bob Marley – Mellow Mood
The Beatles – Here Comes the Sun
Bob Marley – Is this Love
Dave Matthews Band – Crash
The Beatles – Across the Universe
The Beatles – In my Life
Death Cab for Cutie – I will follow you into the dark
Sublime – Santeria
So not all were borderline inappropriate, but if there were words it would have crossed the line. Santeria isn’t anywhere near appropriate 😛 But we picked out songs based on us completely.

I *really* want to play the Imperial March at some point, either as our exit at the ceremony or as our entrance at the reception. It’s not inappropriate in general, but probably inappropriate for a wedding.

were playing club songs and walking into the reception to Ozzy Osbourne’s Crazy Train

@GreenEyedMoon: Love it! We’re using the theme from Dr Who for our entrance :).
I’ve thought about the ‘inappropriate’ song lyrics too, especially since we’re having mostly family. I think I’m just going to ask the DJ to use edited versions of explicit songs :).

I am thinking about using T.I. Bring em out

@Nola: haha- awesome!
@theeekingeek: We’re thinking VSQ Nirvana songs for the ceremony music 🙂 but I love your choices too!
@cosmocity: Honestly, I wouldnt have thought of these songs as borderline or risqué at all – whether it fits probably depends on the formality of your reception…but I would go for it! I get that Boom Boom is referring to sex, but since the lyrics arent explicit and the beat is so fun, I doubt anyone will think about it. There are definitely some songs that I’m saving for the end of the night (after the grandparents, etc. go home.)
