I used it for about about 3 months a=but after that it started to hurt. I told my GYN and he took me off of it. He told me to report it to the FDA and I did and they told me that alot of women are having this problem. All my friends who are taking it have had to stop it as well because of this. Its just like one day you wake up and it hurts and doesn’t stay in. The only other thing I have heard was that some guys can feel it during sex. I did like the convenience of it though.

I’ve used Nuva Ring and I hated it.  I gained a ton of weight, 100% lost my sex drive, and the mood swings were unreal.  I switched to the pill (jolessa, 4 periods a year, yay!) and it is SO much better.  Like you I’m terrible at remembering to take a pill so I set an alarm on my cell phone to remind me everyday, so far so good!  Even though I didn’t like being on Nuva Ring it was still much better than being on the shot, so it may be a better choice for you.

Edit: My guy could also feel it during sex.

I’ve had a really good experience with the Nuva Ring. I was having problems with the pill and my doctor switched me. Absolutely NO weight gain for me and my moods are fine. The only thing I would caution is sometimes it gets “hooked” out during sex–very little, but every so often so check afterwards to make sure it’s still in.

Been on Nuvaring for a year – love it.  I have put on weight (but I’ve had my exercise restricted for a while – starting to lose again), and my menstrual mood swings are more obvious (but then, I went through a medical nightmare, which resulted in me losing my job, can’t get a new job, moved in with my boyfriend, and we’re just now on the same page marriage-wise.  So it may not be the birth control.)  But I’m distractable at the best of times, and my memory has been terrible for over a year now (just got my day-to-day functionality back in the last two months, thanks to a new doctor) – daily pills aren’t going to happen.

Oh, and my sex drive is about twice as active as my man’s…  Still.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to get your period monthly, and there are plenty of pills out there that give you one.  I have a hard time when I get mine, so I like having the option not to get it every month.  I just like the pill I’m on because I feel like a normal person again.  I started losing the weight I gained, not nearly as moody, and I actually enjoy sex again.  I believe it’s because the pill has less hormones than Nuva Ring or Depo.

I used it for about 3 years and LOVED it.  No side effects at all (it did come out during sex once or twice), no weight gain, great sex drive, no moodiness.  Worked much better than the pill for me.  I have an IUD now, or I’d still be using it.

I’m on Nuvaring(forgot to take the pill) and i love it. its SUPER convenient. I have no side effects. It took me a little while to get use in the beginning like spotting a little but that was about it. Mine has never fallen out, no weight gain, and no loss of sex drive. I’ve been moody every once in a while but im pretty sure thats inevitable when your a girl and have a period haha. Everybody reacts differently to it. Fiance can feel it during sex but he never complains about it. Most of the time I’ll jus take it out and re-insert it after sex(It can be left out up to 3 hours).

I’ve used it for several years and had no problems at all.  Maybe slightly less, um, natural lube but that’s about it.  My fiance tells me he can feel it during sex, but not in a bad or uncomfortable way.  It’s only ever come out once or twice, and even then it’s more started to come out than actually fallen anywhere.  I skip most periods but when I have them they are very light, very little cramping or mood swings or anything.
