We’re going tent free on July 18th.  It just doesn’t rain at that time of the year where we’ll be… so I’m not too nervous about it.  But where our wedding is, a number of people rent the clear type tent and it is totally great.

Let me see if I can pull you some photos:

I bet if the sun has already gone down by that point then it shouldn’t be too bad. Besides, if you’re surrounded by tall trees, they should provide enough shade once the sun gets low enough in the sky (by like 5, maybe?) that it should be cool enough inside the tent once 9 pm rolls around.

Plus, if you aren’t dancing right off the bat, you’ll have a chance for it to cool down even more before you start heating things up again!

But to be on the safe side, have lots of water around to keep people nice and hydrated!

We had a clear top tent at our annual Gala last year in June.  EXTREMELY HOT!!!  It was better in the evening, but while setting up during the day and throughout the first part of the presentation, I thought I was going to melt! If you do have a clear top, be sure to put in AC venting through the sides of the tents (and heat for later if it gets cold)

This is an old thread but I’d love to see if anyone has anything else to say about it?

@sarahdtn: how did it turn out? did you go with the clear top? Did everyone melt?

@sarahdtn:  Your reception site was gorgeous! Is this an area that would be available for rent?
