If they are redirecting you elsewhere I would beware of a scam

NO, not normal. Sounds like a knockoff company trying to do the bait and switch

Sounds like a scam to me if they want you to use another form or payment. I would stay away

Paypal is secure and has tons of protections for you, the buyer. It does sounds shady, but not because of the payment method.

that doesn’t sound right at all.  I would also check out preownedweddingdresses.com for some additional options

I bought my gown on preownedweddingdresses.com. I talked to the person several times before purchasing and felt 200% comfortable. If anything doesn’t feel right don’t do it!

Absolutely a scam. I am a paypal seller and I would NEVER ask a buyer to send me payment directly- I would always use the checkout of the website I was selling on. Whatever protections they promise you are most likely not true, and especially don’t ever send payment as a “gift”. Also, the details they are telling you on the dress seem like a scam, and it usually plays out something like this: “oh, we are getting it from the manufacturer, pay us now and we will ship it to you. A month later (when paypal takes away most of your rights as a buyer) “oh, the manufacturer has told us it just now shipped, it will be 2-3 weeks before it gets to you” and it never does.

This is not an issue with RecycledBride but with the seller!  I’d actually report the vendor to RecycledBride.  Sounds very scammy!

They dont want you to use Ring Bearer checkout because the money doesnt get released to them until they provide tracking info. If they are indeed ordering this dress, they are likely using part of your payment to pay for it. Could you link us to the ad?
