I was on it for the past 4 years and loved it.  That was until I started getting migraines and sleep problems (sleep walking and night terrors).  It was super easy to use but once i found out it was causing my problems I switched to the pill and have had no problems since. good luck!

I know several people using the nuvaring who are completely happy.  I did know one person who had to go off of it because of an issue with irritation.

Remember that everyone reacts differently to the different medications, so what is a side effect for one person may not be for someone else.

I think it is a great option, and I’m so happy that our options are expanding over time.  It’s nice to have great ways to control your reproductive health!

I use it, and I have no problems, except the first day I put it in I feel sick.  But, I always felt that way on the pill too (even the low-dose one).  I had been on the pill before for years, but am way too forgetful, which caused too much stress.  This is much easier for me.

I’ve been on the ring for 8 or so years. I started in a test trial. I love it and a good friend who is a doctor also uses it. I get migranes- but for totally other reasons.

I’m also on Nuvaring and love it!  I had been on the Pill but was too forgetful (as I am with everything) and switched to the ring after getting fed up.  I don’t notice any side effects and I’ve been on it for nearly a year now.  When I switched, the nurse who helped me told me most of the female nurses and doctors there use it, too.

be sure to mention to your gyno that you have migraines and describe them to her (auras vs. no auras, etc). some types of migraines contraindicate your using certain dosages of hormonal birth control, and your doctor can inform you which options are available to you.

I was on it for about a year, and loved it.  I went off it when I changed jobs/insurance because it wasn;t covered an I couldn’t justify paying so much when the pill was basically free.  If I could go back on it I totally would…

I’ve been on it for over 5 years and love it! I was originally on the patch and had awful side effects (headaches, rashes, eye problems). Once I switched, it was great!

I used it for a few years. I loved the once-a-month dosing (I was very forgetful about the pill too) but I got my period early on it every single month. I would get it a few days before the end of using the ring, not a few days after taking it out. So although light, my periods were very long and drawn out, which I didn’t like at all. But I had the same side effects on the pill too. Depending on what type of progesterone is in your pill your side effects may be similar or different.

I’m not on the Ring, but several of my friends are.  Their only complaint sometimes, is they have to do what they call "The Nuva Ring Dance", when inserting a new ring, which I find absolutely hilarious…other than that, they are all happy with it.

Used it for several years and loved it.  I eventually went off for fear it was contributing to my frequent migraines.  In hindsight, I suspect it was NOT contributing.  But I can definitely report that it didn’t affect my fertility, because we got pregnant 6 weeks later!

Also, just wanted to note that you can use Nuvaring to skip periods.  They have some new BCP brands that are specifically designed for period-skipping, but it works with Nuvaring too.  You just put in a new ring after 3 weeks, without the "off week."  My GYN recommended this because of my terrible, terrible period symptoms, and I went 2 years without a period.  It was glorious!
