@Miss Pizzelle:  According to the Nuvaring website, it’s safe to remove the ring for lengths of up to 3 hours without compromising its effectiveness.  That might have helped during your intimate moments.

@yorkie

True, i had read that and tried it.

It was just a little odd to (to me) when we would start to get into it, to say: hold up! and then continue to reach for the ring to put on my night stand.

 ha! *blushes*

But thanks!

I used Nuvaring, didn’t have any adverse symptoms other than spotting, but it did pop out on more than one occasion from vigorous games of twister … in one instance I didn’t feel it come out, and only noticed it was gone when I went to replace it, I found it in my sheets later, it had been out for a week. I switched back to depo-provera after that, with the understanding that I will only be on depo-provera for a year until just before the wedding.

I’ve used the Nuvaring for over 4 years and I absolutely love it.  I’ve personally never had it pop out or cause me any sickness or anything.

I’m glad to hear that nausea on day 1 is normal! I just started on the ring yesterday and almost puked when I got up this morning. Yikes! But I’m feeling a little better now that the boss OKed me working from home. 🙂

i triedit and hated it i instantly got a bacteria or yeast whatever infection.  It’s not as easy to put in as they state.  Not my cup of tea.

I’m on it. I was on it for 5 years.  Then I went off it to try something else or just be off it altogether. I had horrible side effects from the pills that I tried – so I ended up going back to the Ring.

It’s so easy. Also, I don’t worry about its effectiveness because there is no user error involved!

I’ve been on Nuva ring for about 5 years.  Before I was on Depo but because of the risk of osteoporosis, my doctor made me switch.  I still like it because I don’t have to remember to take a pill.  I was really bad on remember to take the pill at the same time everyday.

Well, I still like it but I have noticed that recently, I have noticed some symptoms that I never had before.  Particularly the one I am a bit bothered by is the dryness.  When I’m doing it, it’s fine but then I get really dry down there.  Then it gets uncomfortable.

I might talk to my OB/GYN about it and see if there is anything I can do.

Hi!! Can I ask what low dose pills you found to be the best? I have been on nuvaring for years but have terrible sleep patterns and would like to try something new.  When I have taken the pill before it has made me crazy but I’d love to hear about any good experiences you’ve had (aside from the annoyance of having to remember to take it.)

Thanks! -Sara
