For a few years, I had a pretty formal living room.  I decided to redo it to be more casual.  Here’s how it looks now (except that bar is now black granite):

The sheep is probaby the best thing in my entire place.  Her name is Olivia.  ๐Ÿ™‚

Grr. This thread makes me irritated at my untidy living room. I wish Darling Husband had an interest in helping me straighten up. And / or choose a decor.

My living room looks pretty staged in the pictures…in real life, it is much more “lived in”!!! We’re in the process of redecorating and getting new furniture. This is an old picture.

I’m super excited, because our new sofa should be delivered in a couple weeks!  We replaced the recliner already with a new chair that my husband loves, but now the black leather sofa has to go.

This is the new chair we got for Darling Husband. I put the pillow on there for the picture. He would NOT have such a flowery pillow on his chair otherwise!!!

Well, now that I’m looking at the pictures, I guess they don’t look so staged after all!!!

Oh! This is the sofa we’re getting.

I can’t wait for it to get here!!…  Then the artwork over the sofa will have to be change…

Okay… I’ll stop. I’ll go on forever talking about our living room and the changes we’re making!!

@SouthernGirl:  When I had my apartment, the living room was kind of rectangular. I didn’t use the whole thing for living room.  I had the sofa divide the room, and then I had my book shelves and office armoire in one half of the room and the living room in the other half.

I thought I had better pictures of how it was layed out, but I guess I don’t. I actually liked my living room in my apartment better than the living room in our house, but it was just me, so I didn’t have to take his tastes into consideration.

This is the room dowstairs that we’re always in. We have a more formal living room space upstairs but I can’t find a picture of it. This picture is pretty old so there’s more stuff on the walls now and those horrible blinds that the previous owners left us are gone. And those speakers are not there. I have no idea why those are sitting there. Ignore the mess!

@mink:  Your living room is gorgeous.  I don’t know how you do it, but you are really able to combine trends with classic style and it doesn’t look cold or unlived in.   You have a lot of talent.

I especially love Olivia and your Jonathan Adler collection.  ๐Ÿ™‚

Aw, thanks, all!  Right now, there are wedding projects EVERYWHERE, so my pictures aren’t really idicative of what’s really going on in my place.  ๐Ÿ™‚

@RubyCali:  It’s Martha Stewart’s line for Bernhardt.  I think they ended their partnership, though.
