That show makes me so upset but sometimes its like the train wreck that you just can’t turn away from. I want a follow up show to see how many of those relationships failed. I don’t know why anyone would want to be seen acting so mean to their family and friends, that is not what weddings are about at all!

I think a lot of it is scripted, or at least the brides are egged-on to get viewers. I can only watch bits & pieces.

That show is crazy. Especially that one where that bride would actually beat on her bridesmaids…and they sat there and let her. Or the one that nearly gave her dad a heart attack from the stress she was putting him under with coming up with the money for the church and limo! I told my Maid/Matron of Honor if I acted like that to shoot me. I agree with it being scripted…seriously not everything could go wrong like that….I havent had a problem yet…but then again I am very laid back.

I watch it…but I watch all the wedding shows. I even have watch my big fat gypsy wedding and OMG that was terrible! LOL!

Do you notice, too, that when the scenes are not particularly all that bad the annoying narrator comes on in her condescending voice making fun of the brides? Everything about that show irks me.

I wish! We don’t have cable though because we are too cheap and Hulu is free. I wished they showed it online! However, better believe when we were sitting in the hotel room getting ready before the wedding I was watching it. I just kept reminding my girls that no matter what I do or say, atleast I am not THAT bad!

I love and hate that show at the same time.  I’ve often wondered if it was scripted…but if it is, I’d say that’s some pretty good acting.  And I have to say, I actually HAVE known people that bratty, unreasonable, and completely oblivious to the fact there are other people in the world who matter besides them.  So when I really think about it…I’m not surprised if they really are just being themselves.  But the editing definitely has a lot to do with it, and I’m positive the featured brides are chosen based on how certifiably psychotic they seem to those reviewing the applications.

I watched a Top Ten Bridezillas episode (or something like that – the “best” (worst) moments from a recent season), and it was crazy.  One bride threw a hissy fit because people weren’t paying attention to her for 5 minutes when the 5 year-old ring bearer went missing and they had to look for him.

Maybe I just like this show because it makes me feel superior.  😛

I love to hate that show and I admit it makes me feel really good about myself. LOL!

Worst Bridezilla ever is Karen (season 6) from Staten Island, NY. Not only does she hate poor people but everyone wants to be like her and have her amazing hair (which we see later is sewn in). Waste of space she is!

the first few seasons i thought were for real but then it went crazy – im hoping its scripted because i cant believe people like that really exist AND there are men out there that would marry them/familes that would support such behaviour

@eloping: I think the reason it seems so absurd (that there are people who act like that, and that there are enough people who act like that to fuel the show for 10+ seasons) is due to selection bias.  It’s definitely not a random, accurate cross-section of society.  When you think about it, there are probably, what, about 20 couples on that show over the course of a season, give or take a few?  20 couples out of hundreds of thousands?  I’m sure there are at least 20 couples getting married every year who are that dysfunctional.

@Treejewel19:  is Karen the chick who named her big huge diamond ring “edna” or something with an “e” because she said that was a “fat ladies” name and her ring is, well, phat? Also she was telling the story of her Fiance proposing and he had a waiter at a restaurant bring the ring to her on a silver platter, but the Fiance passed out and hit the floor. When he woke up, she had the ring on her finger already and was eating! Her comment was “hey, I was hungry” and had this look on her face like “wth do you expect me to do?”   LOL!!!!  Dumb b*tch didnt help her man up off the floor or see if he was OK or nothing!

Not only could I NEVER treat anyone like that, or behave like a douche cock over a cake or flowers..but it doesnt look any better on the guys who are OK with getting treated like dirt and marry those gals anyway.  Mr M would never allow me to get away with behavior like that.
