You need to add an option…

I simply did not notice if anyone did, nor would I have cared, because it was completely obvious that I was the bride, so I honestly have no idea.

I haven’t gotten married yet, so I can’t answer for myself, but I can talk about the two weddings I’ve been to most recently.  My Maid/Matron of Honor had a big wedding last summer, and no less than eight women showed up in white.  I was kind of shocked.

FI’s cousin got married a few weeks before that, and his aunt (one of FMIL’s sisters) wore a white dress.  Future Mother-In-Law talked about it all night, and Fiance was confused because this was the one of his aunts that is a stickler for etiquette.  Future Mother-In-Law apparently had a talk with her later about what would be acceptable for our wedding, which amuses me greatly.

FI’s grandmother asked me last time I saw her what she should wear, and she showed me a white dress she was thinking about.  I think Future Mother-In-Law talked her out of it because it was a very summery dress, but I didn’t really care.  When you get to be that old, you can wear whatever you want!  It doesn’t matter now, though, since FI’s grandfather has taken a turn for the worse, and they aren’t going to be able to come to the wedding anyway.  🙁
