Mori Lee 2512, this isnt the best picture but you can get the idea. The top is pretty beaded, but than it fades into the low waist. I refused having a beaded dress, but I fell in love with this one 🙂

The bodice of my gown is heavily beaded, but not the whole gown.

Be careful purchasing a gown that is heavily beaded all over because they can be VERY heavy.  I mean so heavy that it would be a pain to wear for the whole wedding and reception.

Mine was top-heavy beaded, but I tried on a few all-over beaded gowns. Like Mrs. Louboutin said, they were SOOOOO heavy. I got sweaty in the shop just walking around in it!

As far as your mom saying people will only see the detailing–well, that’s the silliest thing I ever heard. I’m a big fan of brides wearing bling =]

I like both of the dresses you have picked out. I like the first on best. It is your wedding day and you should wear whatever you like. I dont think they are too over the top and nobody is going to think the dress out shines you. That is just silly. The dress will just accentuate your beauty.

I am wearing a heavily beaded dress and I love it. My only concern is the beads coming off. I find myself trying to be super careful around the beading.

My gown is heavily beaded on the top and a little on the bottom.  I love it…I don’t think I would’ve liked plain.  My Fiance would go through magazine pictures with me and always pointed out beaded gowns as ones he liked.  It fit with what both of us liked.

My gown is completely beaded and weighs a lot! It’s my avatar, I know you can’t really tell, but there is a lace like pattern made up of all beads on the entire thing and even crystal beads instead of buttons down the back. It sounds like too much but I don’t think it looks like too much. And I was definitely one of those brides who walked into the salon screaming “No Beading” and left with a totally beaded dress.

I thought I wanted a more simple, elegant look but my mom said I had to try on this last dress just to see. When I put it on I felt like a superstar so you can see why I bought it! I actually pictured Mariah Carey’s first fairytale wedding for some reason! My prom dress was the big poofy ball gown with layers upon layers of tulle and while I looked and felt great it was heavy (even despite taking layers off from underneath).

Do what you want! :0) [attachment=865944,108283]

@meliss

I’m in the exact same situation as you and I agree completely with everything you said! I love how you put that, it’s totally true. It took me a little while but I tried on a ton of gowns and the one I went for was a really fancy Kenneth Pool beaded tulle ballgown!
