I’d love to see pictures too! I just ordered a one-hoop cirniloine to wear under my A-line. I want just a bit more oomph! I hope it looks good… I’ll try to take pictures when I have everything together.

I am getting my dress back from alterations this weekend but this is how it looked before I had it hemmed:

Please excuse the gigantic, headless picture – I had no make up on yet. Also, I will obviously get my dress steamed! I am so short that I have no choice but to get it hemmed. Sigh.

Edit: Oh, hello date twin! April 27 will be a great day to get married 🙂

Edit #2: I just realized that it doesn’t look all that great in the picture. Keep in mind that I didn’t have an army of helpers to make the dress look great! It will look better!

@iestynsmummy:  I will try to remember to post a picture up once I get it back from alterations. April is hit or miss in North Carolina. It can be either really cold and wet, hot and dry, or hot, wet, and humid!

I have an A line dress that I put a large crinoline skirt under. I liked the fuller look better, and I didn’t want to have to get the length taken in. Here it is during the first fitting, so it is all wrinkly and weird looking. She has the waist pinned to be taken in that is why it looks so bad in the front.

I picked my dress yesterday and the person in the shop insisted I get a hooped skirt to wear under it. My dress looks pretty much the same with or without the hoop, but she suggested I wear one for a couple of reasons:

1. The hoop actually makes it easier to walk in the dress! It holds the dress off your legs so you’ve got more room to move. You can take big steps/dance without having to kinda kick the dress away from you.

2. The hoop is made out of soft cotton fabric so it stops the fabric of the actual dress feeling scratchy or sticking to you if it’s hot.

3. The hoop holds the skirt of your dress in a perfect circle so it will look great in photos without being readjusted.

Hope this helps! I tried my dress with and without a hoop and I am definately going with one for all of these reasons 🙂
