Is anyone wearing a short sleeve lace bolero? If so, please post pictures and share where you bought it!
This is my dress (Mori Lee Blu 4524, in white):

I need something to cover my shoulders during the ceremony per our synagogue rules. I didn’t like any of the long sleeve boleros, and the structured short sleeved ones made me look like a matador.
I would love to see some photos of any bees who wore short sleeve or cap sleeve boleros, especially in lace. If you have any other suggestions of what might go with this dress, please share them!

I am not sure you could call it short sleeve but this is the lace bolero I am wearing. This one was just a touch small on me.

It’s Paloma Blanca style number 450 I believe. They have some gorgeous boleros.

Meh the photos aren’t there anymore. Here is the best pic I have of the bolero.
Sorry I can’t find any great pics of it from the front.

Me! I just finished making mine, my aunt gave me her old wedding dress to rework. It’s a little different. I’ll take a pic and post it this evening…

@STBSchmidt: I love that! The look in the back is definitely what I am going for.
@MsJeep23: I would like to see the one you made! What a fun way to reuse a wedding dress.
My dress was only about $500, so I feel weird spending $200+ on a bolero. I’m hoping to find one on Etsy or eBay for closer to $50. Did anyone buy one online or have any seller recommendations?

I am! I bought mine from Etsy and it is really gorgeous. I don’t have my dress yet, or I’d show you a photo on a real person! What kind of veil are you planning to wear, if any?
Here it is from the website. I bought a medium and it fits perfectly. I wear about a size 6-8 on top.
ETA: Ooh, forgot to add that it was only $45. Seriously.

@Mrs.Oat: I was looking at that store! I love that bolero, I think something like that would work with my dress. I am planning on wearing a cut edge 2 tier fingertip length veil without any embellishments. Did you try on anything similar before you bought one online?

@MM423: I tried a 3/4 length bolero at one of the bridal stores, but it was way too big and just looked dumb on me. I bought this one online just hoping it would work, and thought that $45 wasn’t too much to regret spending if it didn’t work out 🙂
Also I was really happy that they had pictures of the back. Too many of the lace boleros I found online were more sheer than lace – you know, more surface area was made of tulle than actual lace.

I bought from the same store as Lida
and mine was around $45 I think. Here are 2 pics:

It was this one, on Etsy:

But I also LOVED this one, but it was out of my price range (but still around $100 I think?) on Etsy:

I know everyone’s experience is different but I will say that the one I bought ended up being too large. I normally wear an XL as I’m busty but I should have ordered a large, I did it at the last minute and had no time for an exchange though. As a result the puffy sleeves didn’t “puff” on me and kind of slouched off my shoulders, so I ended up having to stiffen the lace to shape the sleeves so they’d fit right. You can see in this pic how it was before I “stiffened” it (compare to first ones).

@MsInterpret: Yours is very pretty, too! It’s really helpful to see photos of real brides. I think I’m going to order from that same store, the prices are the most reasonable I’ve seen.
I am leaning toward one of these:

I know they’re incredibly similar, but if anyone could tell me which one they like better, it would definitely help me out!

@MM423: I like the top one. The lace seems more sunstantial.
I promise I’ll post a pic of mine after work today, too…

@MM423: I like the top one too, I like the scalloped edge and how it is more prominent. 🙂 I would have gone with the sleeveless or cap sleeved one myself, but I was trying to hide arm flab. 😉
