I just bought this dress last week to wear for my wedding next May! It is absolutely breathtaking on (if I do say so myself, haha). The sweetheart neckline is pretty pronounced, with a lot of crusty pearl and crystal beadwork. It’s gorgeous. The lace is unbelievable too, with ivory rosettes either against an oyster (the softest, lightest silver you can imagine) or ivory background. I chose oyster because the toile of the lace stands out better that way.

The back is pretty low. I don’t have much up top either, but I’m still not wearing a bra. Most salons have bras that can go very far down for a dress with a plunging back, but I’d be more comfortable without some crazy contraption like that. I think I’m just going to have cups sewn in to the inside of the dress, alterations said they could do that as well. The back also has beautiful crystal buttons that aren’t very visible in the photos online.

Everyone is crazy over their wedding dress, so I don’t mean to sound over the top, but I tried on about 50 dresses and didn’t have that “this is the one” feeling until Catarina. So I don’t think you can go wrong with this one 🙂

@carriebecker:

I am in LOVE with this dress it is stunning, but they dont have it here in Australia yet and the ladies at the MS shops say they may never get it as the lace is very thick and heavy and not ideal for australian conditions. Can anyone who has tried on the dress tell me if it is a hot & heavy dress and difficult to wear?

Hi! I ordered the dress in oyster with the ivory lace over.  Unfortunately, I couldn’t take pics, but love the dress.  AmyG13 – it’s been about a month that I tried on the dress, but I don’t remember it being heavy or uncomfortable.  My dress gets in about September, otherwise I’d take pics, etc. 🙂

I am wearing the Catarine for my October beach wedding and I tried my actual dress on for the first time yesterday.  It is BEAUTFIUL 🙂 It is Ivoy over Oyster & I love everything about it except the fact that it is very heavy and made my legs sweat very bad just for the 20 minutes I had it on! I am getting a dress for the reception so I can move around after the pictures. Although I love my Catarina so much I wont want to take it off I just know it will be too hot.

The pictures are from our first dress fitting so all the dresses do not fit perfectly so keep that in mind when viewing the pictures 🙂

@AKeen:it looks great on you! I don’t remember it being that heavy! :O I must’ve been in la-la land! Lol! My dress should be here in a month and a half so I’ll be able to get a better feel for it then.

I LOVE THIS DRESS! I’m ordering this dress within the next week or so – can’t wait! It is elegant and classic, but a little sexy at the same time. So pretty!

I found that the dress was very true to the pictures, but the sample that I tried on was about 2 sizes too big (size 12, and I’ll probably end up getting a size 8 according to the sales lady), so it was hard to imagine exactly what the back would look like in my size/once alterations are done. I didn’t like the flower strap as much as I thought I would, so I’m just ordering the dress strapless. I’m pretty flat-chested, so I won’t be wearing a bra underneath since the sales woman assured me that the “bra cup” inserts you can put in will be enough support/coverage for me. The price where I went was $1598, which seems to be consistent with most of the places I’ve seen.

I tried on the ivory over ivory and I loved it. I haven’t seen the oyster over ivory color in person yet – I love it on the website, but I would like to see it in person before I actually order my dress.

These pictures are just from when I tried on the sample, so keep in mind that it was WAY too big – I’m 5’6″ and about 130, so hopefully this gives you a better idea of the dress 🙂 but the bust area was really big, the boning/corset was too long, and the back had to be clamped a lot.

^^ I was trying to push in the front boning more and flatten the back where it was clamped so that I could get a better idea of what it would look like in a smaller size.

^^ Trying to flatten the boning/corset in the front (you can kinda see where it was pooching out awkwardly at the bottom)

@AmyG13: The dress wasn’t too hot or heavy to me. I’m having an outdoor ceremony/indoor reception next summer and it could get up to 100*F, but I think it should be fine.

@AKeen: The dress looks gorgeous! I really like the ivory/oyster! I haven’t seen it outside of the website! Congratulations 🙂

@lily80: Thank you 🙂 I just thought the bottom part was so heavy! My legs were sweating to death! but I’m sure the day I actually wear it I’ll be sweating anyway!

@indyJEEP: Looks wonderful on you! I swear it is the most gorgeous dress in person pictures do not do it justice! I like the ivory over ivory I had a really hard time choosing.  The sales lady at my store just said the main difference was the oyster showed the lace better.  That was really the only difference, I honestly don’t think either make or break the dress.  The strap turned out pretty, not as wide as I had hoped but I have always loved the one shoulder look. (My strap in the picture is way too big)

I am 5’7″ about 150 and my dress is a 10 that will have to be altered slightly (not much from the actual size) and Im really busty so I was concerned about the back being too low for me since you really cant wear a bra.  I am going to just get the cups put in my and the bodice is tight enough to hold me up. I’m going to post some other pictures because when I was thinking of ordering it I could not find any “real” brides with this dress!

First picture is just showing the ivory over oyster detail at the bottom of the dress.

Second picture is the top of the dress detail without the strap

Here are some more photos of the ivory/ivory color.

I’ve tried it on twice now and I’m going back again this Sunday… just can’t get enough! Haha

For me, the bust portion will be a lot smaller (I’m quite flat, hah) so the parts where it curves up near the armpit will be lower and the back near my lower butt will be much more fitted.

@AKeen: Thank you for posting the close-ups of the oyster! I still haven’t decided which color I want :-/ Unfortunately, none of the local stores have a sample in the oyster so I may just have to wing it. Not sure!

The dress looks gorgeous on you! How far out was the estimated delivery date for yours? My sales lady thinks it’d be between 6-9 months… so long!
