I haven’t bought my dress yet, but I tried this one on yesterday and I can’t get it out of my head. I think it may be “the one”….

But anyways, this is a White by Vera Wang dress. The consultant who was helping me pointed out that Vera Wang dresses usually don’t have “bling” cos she ventures out w/ the sewing techniques, which in my opinion, makes them a great canvas for accessories. If I were to get this dress, I would do a sash like this, but I saw a few girls that put beaded sashes and brooches on their dress and it looked amazing!

For your dress I think a beaded/crystal sash would look beautiful, or maybe a sparkly necklace. I’m not sure what else you could add though, the dress looks beautiful on you as is! What’s your style for your wedding?

I bought the vw351086!! I haven’t taken the bow off yet…Has anyone done so?

I bought a sparkly sash to be sewn on the waist!

The consultant said the bow would come off easily…!

@Galatea:  Did you make yours have a dip instead of being straight across? I see your bow was removed! I tried on that sash as well! It looks great!

I did buy this dress (quite a while ago, sorry I haven’t been online much!), and yes, I had the sweetheart dip put in, as well at the top layer of the tulle skirt tacked down (so it was more gradual rather than blunt in the top of the skirt). I did also have the bow taken off, which I did myself. But I don’t recommend doing it yourself! I’m a seamtress so I have a lot of experience, but it was still very tricky. You have to open up the seams on the sides and the dress is fully lined, so best to have a reputable tailor do that. But it looks amazing! I will post pictures after I get it back from the tailors for everything else.

*In the above picture, my friends were holding down the top layer to see what it’d look like, the top was pinned down, and another sash was over the old one, hiding it.

Yup! And I thought about doing a sash, but it cut me up too much. I’m just going to bling it up with earrings, and other accessories.

Strange…when I looked at these dresses online the DB website I really didn’t care for them at all and thought most of them were kind of ugly but on you ladies they look amazing. You have shown me the collection in a new way and now I want to try some of them on. THANKS

I love my White by Vera Wang dress! It was so different than what I thought I’d like for my wedding dress but when I tried it on I just knew I should have it so we bought it the next day!

I just had the hem cut (I’m wearing flats for our beach wedding) and the bustle made but other than that no alterations needed as I love love love the dress so much and cant wait to wear it soon!

Hi guys, I’m a 2014 bride to be and I happened to stumble on this page as I was eyeing the 351086. I’m looking for mermaid silhouette dress just like 351086. Unfortunately I live in London and I have no chance of walking in to DB or any shops to try. However, I saw that DB is having sale on this dress and would like to buy it but is it wise to buy a wedding dress without trying it on? I will probably need to shorten the dress as I’m only 5ft so does anyone know if it is possible to bring the hem up? I will like to lose the bow too and probably go for a mink coloured sash of sort… Any more pictures of the 351086 would be greatly appreciated, especially the back train! Thank you…
