ellagrace:  Are you averse to switching things up, or do you want your wedding ring to be your wedding ring ie it never comes off?

If you’re not averse to switching things up, I would buy all three, and then just play with different looks (eg e-ring plus two diamond bands; e-ring with one diamond band; e-ring with just the Cartier Love ring; e-ring with a diamond band plus the Cartier) depending on your mood.

If however you plan to never take them off/change them around, personally I prefer the understated and more classic look of just one or two diamond bands.

I’m loving the look of the Cartier ring with the e-ring, but for me it’s very modern/’funky’/of the moment, and I don’t know how it will date; I particularly feel that way if you go for mixed metals (which, incidentally, I love in this case; I’m not usually a fan)

rings

mine is custom made to fit my engament ring i like the balance of having two bands and my e-ring sits low so i couldnt fit the rings underneath it

ellagrace:  I think that sounds like a good idea then: get one diamond band that is your official wedding band and that never comes off, then a second diamond band and the Cartier one that you can wear as additional bands when you choose.

Re metals I think I would go for mixed metals; I think the Cartier band is quite modern, and I just think it lends itself to the mixed-metal look. My personal choice would be rose gold.

ellagrace:  I have an enhancer that looks like two bands because I love the symmetry. And we got married on Saturday so now I can wear it forever!!! 🙂

ellagrace:  thanks! This is actually not my wedding set I got married with.  I have a main set that has a wrap as wedding bands, so essentially two wedding bands connected at the base.  As for this set, I’ve collected them over the past few months.

ellagrace:  I really like having lots of options, and it is fun to mix things up now and then. But, I have to agree with you. My “official” set is my favorite, too. And that’s how I wear my rings 99% of the time. I love the stacked look, but I think it might not be for me, at least not with my current ring. I think most of my stacking mania came about just trying to find a band I felt was “perfect”. Now that I have that, I feel very satisfied with my set and don’t feel the urge to stack as much.

DH told me, though, that he didn’t expect this band would be the last one I ever got to go with my ring. He knows me so well. Ha, ha!
