My reception dress was just a white dress (not a wedding dress) and I actually got more compliments on it than my bridal gown haha

karrotcakes :  yes πŸ™‚ my wedding is in two weeks. And my fiance and I aren’t having a wedding per say, just a very small, 6 minute cermomy with a couple witnesses at his church for now. The big wedding is coming up next year March when we settle down with everything. I already bought my dress and he wants a reception so that’s why we are planning for a bigger wedding later on. πŸ™‚

My original dress was 1700 at David’s bridal.Gorgeous dress that I might add! But I couldn’t live knowing I spent that much on a dress for only 3 hours at a wedding! So I returned the dress and went online and found JJsHouse.com. Series of amazing stuff there!! Great quality dresses for a reasonable price! My wedding dress now is $300!! So happy! Tried it on it fits perfect! They give you options to customize your size as well so you don’t have to wait 5 months for minor alterations. Mine came in the mail in two weeks!

I’m not going to walk down the aisle in Sept so, no need to wear my wedding dress, im just going to wear something simple and white that I bought a year ago at Macy’s for $25. This dress was actually supposed to be the dress I was to be proposed in but never got to wear it, so why not wear it for my small ceremony?

You can do whatever you think that makes you feel comfortable. I suggest to be careful in buying clothes online because of all the horror stories. You can look online for the dress in the store and ask to reserve it for you to try it on. Congrats on the engagement bee, so happy for you! I write a lot sorry. Hope this helped.

My $25 Macy’s ivory dress

Beautiful lace details

I bought this bridesmad dress from DB back in June when they were having a sale.

This one is actually coral and mine is Guava, which is more pinkish, less orange.

I was having a little dress regret and was thinking of making me a dress in pink, but after I thought about I knew this was the one. Its my favorite color and I already have it. No point in changing now. Plus we are having a Destination Wedding and a reception later, so Fiance has told me that if I want a blush dress I can get one for the reception.

My daughters and I have come up with some inspiration to make it look a little more bridal too.

My wedding dress was actually a floor length white evening gown. I see nothing wrong with going non-traditional πŸ™‚

I love non traditional wedding dresses, especially for your probably-destination-weddingmoon πŸ™‚

A white or blush cocktail dress with a lovely pair of shoes/sandals would be perfect, in my opinion! Add in a string of pearls or a lovely necklace…and voila, you’re a beautiful bride. (Not that you need me as your stylist of course, LOL).:)

I saw someone try this on in Nordstrom’s the other day. Looked wonderful! http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/maggy-london-illusion-yoke-crepe-sheath-dress-regular-petite/4378486?origin=category-personalizedsort&fashioncolor=OYSTER

good luck, bee. Let us know what you pick!

From Target (they ship internationally):

Though not expensive, these from Selfridges would work beautifully:

Where do you live?  I got my dress from Monsoon, a high street store here in the UK, they have a great bridal range and all are under £500

im wearing a short dress with jacket (but not a tea length or A-line, more mother of the bride – like I love  this dress by carla ruiz) and boots

I want to be comfortable and be able to move + feel like me, id be miserable in a long dress I could trip on or a corseted dress or a heavy dress etc… and its one day of my life that I REALLY dont want to be uncomfortable and miserable on
