I think the veil is too much with the Melissa Sweet dress!  I think it would be fine with your dress 🙂

i actually made my veil and it looks like the Uma! not as many petals coming up the sides though because i didn’t want it to take away from the dress. i’m wearing it with this dress, but don’t have a picture of the completed veil with it:

@elliestan: how did you make it? I’m looking for a similar style as well and was thinking of making it.  It’s so pretty!

I didn’t end up wearing the Uma veil, but I was going to with Pronovias Tirso. It has a similar petal feel going on though..

The only reason why I didn’t was because I ended up with a different dress.

@morkiemama: i cut petal shapes out of chiffon and organza and burned the edges of them so that they’d curl a bit. then i sewed them all on – a few on the blusher and most at the bottom but like i said, i didn’t go overboard and tried to use smaller ones (½”-1½”) for most of it, though there are larger ones. then i thought “why not?” and glued some swarovski crystals in the middle of some of the larger petals. this is actually the first time i’ve seen the UMA veil (i think i’ve seen the dress though) so i didn’t model it after it and i’m not sure if the petals would look the same.
