I am trying to figure out what to tell the florist about what I want in the bouquets! I know that for the BMs I want something white and wildflower-y with tons of greenery. I want the same thing for myself, but I”m worried about how it will look with my gown. My gown is a mermaid style with lots of crystal-y swirly embellisments down the front and back, which makes me think I should have a simpler bouquet?? Has anyone thought about this stuff? Is it dumb to worry about it? Argh… someone please come order my flowers for me… 🙂

Can you put a mock bouquet together and pare it with your dress to see in person? That’s what I would do.

I personally like monochromatic. Look around for wedding pictures. Some brides have monochromatic bouquets and some brides have more colorful ones. You should able to get a feel of what you would like.

It sounds like your gown is pretty formal, while the bouquets you’re describing a little whimsical/organic/informal. I think that might be why you’re feeling it will distract from the dress.
If the dress is really formal, a more subdued or structured bouquet might keep the flowers and the dress from competing with each other.
Do you have a picture of the dress? Or inspiration pics for the bouquets?

I would just share your concerns and a picture of your dress with the florist and let them handle it. They are hte professional!
