Can you put a mock bouquet together and pare it with your dress to see in person?  That’s what I would do.

I personally like monochromatic. Look around for wedding pictures. Some brides have monochromatic bouquets and some brides have more colorful ones. You should able to get a feel of what you would like.

It sounds like your gown is pretty formal, while the bouquets you’re describing a little whimsical/organic/informal.  I think that might be why you’re feeling it will distract from the dress.

If the dress is really formal, a more subdued or structured bouquet might keep the flowers and the dress from competing with each other.

Do you have a picture of the dress?  Or inspiration pics for the bouquets?

I would just share your concerns and a picture of your dress with the florist and let them handle it.  They are hte professional!
