michelle0919:  You look beautiful and your dress is gorgeous. You will definitely feel better after alterations. For what it’s worth, we are our own worst critics.

At my first fitting, I had the opposite problem. My dress was too loose and it looked terrible. However, I had my second fitting two weeks ago and it was a hundred times better.

I definitely don’t think you need to alter it into a corset back. The buttons MAKE the back of that dress. It is slightly tight, but if you lost 4 pounds, you should be fine. Is the seamstress letting it out at all? What exactly is she doing to it?

Oh, I had the “bust too big in the dress even though I have an awesome rack” problem too! That’s the only problem I see with the way your dress is fitting. It’s a really easy alteration, so I’m sure you’ll look perfect come July.

Wow! Huge improvement! You  look HOT!  Love your dress.  My dress (which hasnt come in yet) is a sort of major sweetheart like yours and I wasn’t sure I liked it but now that I see yours I am excited to get mine!!!

michelle0919:  My dress was horrible at my first fitting. I went between wanting to cry, to wanting to choke out the saleswoman to wanting to run out of there. I knew I should expect it to not look good at the first fitting, but I didn’t think it was going to be falling off of me (saleswoman INSISTED on a size that made me gasp and I talked her down 2 sizes from what she suggested and it was STILL 2 sizes too big) The dress needed to be taken in about 4 inches and was heavily beaded so I was FREAKING out.

My seamstress did wonders to the dress and I am sooo lucky the alterations were capped because I probably would have gone to jail for assaulting the saleswoman if they weren’t able to fix my $4000 dress ๐Ÿ˜‰

michelle0919:  They do know what they are doing unfortunately and it is very backhanded… I wear a size 34E and my dress had a low sweetheart so I had to make sure it fit the top without exposing my guests to my nipples LOL- they go by your biggest measurements and I KNEW she was purposely measuring me wrong so they could make money on alterations. Based on my measurements I should have been wearing a 12 for my designer and she wanted to order me a 20! I tried on the size 10 and the zipper was REALLLLLY tight and the cups would not fit my breasts. I knew I needed a size 12 or 14 at most- even the 14 was pushing it for me. I was able to talk her into a size 16 down from a 20 (I’m still pissed about this) but she refused to be the one to take the order if I went down any more because she knew “it would not fit and not be fixable” and when the 16 came in I could get in and out of it with it zipped up. I was shakingggg mad. I ended up taking it down to a 12 at the biggest part and 10s at the smallest. Such a waste of time and money!
