Do your pets have any annoying habits?
Scenario: Me, sitting on recliner w/ blanket, laptop, and textbook in lap. Half doing homework, half procrastinating by Weddingbee browsing. And then….
Cat: Oooh I think I’m going to jump up and sit in her lap. On top of the computer keyboard. Sounds fun. Doinggg itttt!
Me: HEY! Stupid cat. Aw, but you’re so cute. I’ll just move my computer and attempt to balance my textbook so that it doesn’t bother you and your cuteness.
Cat: I SO win. Muahaha *evil laugh*
And then…….
Cat: Actually, this isn’t very comfy afterall. Done. *hops down*
Me: Yesss… I SO win.
Cat: Oh yeah? I’m just going to chew the hell out of this piece of paper sitting on the floor nearby and distract/annoy you. Oh darn, it happens to be your assignment guidelines, too bad. Plus you’ll have to clean it up afterward. Sucker.
Me: Bubs, NO! Stop it. Trouble (I named her when I was 7, don’t laugh…)! HEY! Lil *@#*&^!!!!!
Cat: I SO win.
No, I swear I’m not crazy and YES, this is totally how that scene was played out
So, Do your pets have any annoying habits???

Lots. My youngest shreds any paper products she finds. We can’t leave a roll of toilet paper on the hook or she’ll shred it to pieces. Same with paper towels and used paper products in the trash. My middle cat likes to jump up on counter tops, sit in the sink, and she pulls garbage out of our large trash can in the kitchen. She has an annoying habit of waking me up, she’ll stick her paw underneath my bedroom door and curl it upwards and start pulling back and forth on the door (trying to open it). She used to jump up on our 8 ft hutch via the 4 foot deep freezer, but we put our dutch oven where she jumped up on it. My oldest cat will intentionally miss the litterbox if she’s pissed off which is often it seems.

Yes! My mastiff comes and shoves his head under my arm and lays it on my lap ( he swears his 170 pounder is a lap dog ) and will literally knock my hands off the keyboard and keep doing it until I pet him. Here he is so you get an idea of how ridiculous he is.

My dog never wants to play with me unless I’m doing something important, like school work. Then, he unplugs my laptop or jumps up in my lap. (My dog also weighs 70 pounds at 9 months old).He also has an obsession with plastic (as in my cups, blinds, the ends of my silverware) and also with paper. He and my cat work together. My cat will knock my toilet paper off the stand and my dog will eat it. They do the same with mail, or my papers…
Your cat also sounds a lot like mine…

@beekiss2: I feel like our cats must be related π haha. My cat knows exactly how to wake me up so she can leave the room. She will either walk on my pillow, find the only plastic bag located in my room and walk all over it, scratch at the door, etc. The whole paper-chewing story was an UNDERSTATEMENT. I honestly think it gives her joy to chew up any paper within sight and watch me clean up the little pieces. If I don’t clean the litter box soon enough, its a guarantee that she’ll go potty right NEXT to the litter box. One time, I changed to a less expensive cat litter and she protested the litter box until I switched back. I love cats, but mine sure drives me nuts sometimes.
I also have 2 parrots, but they are so frequently annoying that I can’t single out a particular story momentarily haha. “Hello” is not such a pleasant word when you hear it 8734512738401 times a day.

@Juno, Southern, & MamaH — funny how big dogs seem to think they fit everywhere, huh? Too funny! I love (er, kind of?) the mischief that dogs are able to create in comparison to other pets. My FI’s good friend has a dalmatian who wants to be a part of ANYTHING you’re doing while sitting on the couch. She’s knows she’s not allowed on the couch unless you invite her, but she’s figured out exactly how to bug everyone for attention and make them give in. If the guys are playing video games, she’ll yank the controller out of their hands. Water bottle nearby, new play toy! Hand hanging where she can reach, soo many kisses. I think its cute, but I don’t live with her π soo I’m sure its VERY different haha.
Super cute dog, Juno!!

My border collie has become obsessed with shocking people. He will roll around on the couch, then sneak up on you, and shock your arm, feet, or knees. If Fiance and I are both on the couch he will go back and forth between us. Stinking kid!
My cat does a lot of annoying things, but my “favorite” is when he hops in the fridge and lays down.

π Ha. Where to start? My hound-mix has this crazy bark-howl-thing she’ll do when she hears something go bump in the night. Always scares the bejeezus out of me! And she likes to chew…a lot. She’ll go through a rawhide bone in less than a day, which is why she only gets them on special occasions.
My little one (okay, he’s 30 lbs, but he’s littlest) will come while I’m laying down and lay across my stomach. He looks like superdog.
But for real, how am I supposed to stay mad at these faces?!?! Gah. I’m a sucker. π

@AmeliaBedelia: OHMYGOSH they are SOOO cute! I definitely couldn’t stay mad at those faces! But howling in the middle of the night would probably scare me too haha. Are those recent photos?
@Reina — that is SO funny! What a smart dog! I mean, I’m sure that it gets very, very annoying – but that’s pretty clever!
My Fiance and I are planning on adopting either a german shepherd or a doberman about a year after we’re married– I can’t wait! My fam has always had dobies, so I’m leaning toward the germie, but I really can’t decide!

@indyJEEP: Lol @ your parrots. Yeah, I don’t understand the obsession with paper products, she’ll just shred it and she acts so innocent and timid compared to the other two but she destroys ENTIRE NEW rolls of toilet paper. Alas, my guests will have to be warned that the t.p. is under the sink in the cabinet.

In July Fiance and I got a kitten we named Saydee. She is my FIRST ever pet so I’m not sure if this is “normal” for cats, but Saydee gives herself a bath almost every hour!!
When she goes to the litter box, she gives herself a bath. When she’s about to fall asleep on the couch, she gives herself a bath. When she’s about to eat, or about to fall asleep for the night, she gives herself a bath. I think she might be germaphobic!!
It’s only annoying because she takes forever! And makes these licking sounds. lol. But I still love her.

@beekiss2: Haha at least you warn the guests as to where the can find a new roll π
My cat is also OBSESSED with chasing Q-tips/cotton swabs…. if one happens to miss the garbage can or fall out, the bathroom floor officially becomes a skating rink as she bats it around and slides after it. I’ll wake up at 3am to hear *crash boom biff bang —silence—- thunk crash boom* but its almost funny. Almost.
Also, every once in a while (I’m pretty sure it’s always when she thinks she’s alone?) she’ll find a place in the house and go “MROWRRRRRRRRR!!” – it’s like a whining, super loud meow. Maybe a mating meow. Who knows. It’s always random, so it cracks me up when she does it. BUT, one of our parrots has recently figured out how to make a similar “impression” of her MROWR and it is the FUNNIEST thing. A rainbow colored bird sitting there going MROWWR MROWR MROWRRR! He varies the length and tone up sometimes too. Silly.
@Nati-Lyte — My cat takes a bedtime “bath” and it drives me nuts because she licks so loud that I can’t sleep until she’s done. And then once I focus on that noise it just annoys me more because I can’t NOT listen to it. lol

@indyJEEP: The one of Chevy (black one at the top) is recent, but the one of Lucy is just one of my favorites. π
Here is one of them more recently.
