I think that’s totally fine – those look way more like wedding dresses than Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses anyways.

I think this is a fantastic idea and I looked into many bridesmaid dresses for my own wedding gown. Especially because I didn’t want a train, I thought it was a great idea and a great way to save money. For me, I wanted a fairly full skirt, and the bridesmaids dresses that I tried on didn’t have the right skirt for me. So I ended up in a wedding gown and had the train cut off. But if you can find a style you like I would definitely go for it! They’re so much cheaper and I think they have some really super cute styles!

@UKbee:  I think it’s fine. As long as you get it in ivory.

Have you tried on empire waist dresses before? I find not a lot of people can get away with wearing them without looking like they’re trying to hide something. The last one looks like a bridesmaid or evening dress.. possibly a simple wedding dress. It depends how fancy you want it. If money and time are an issue, you can always buy a preowned wedding dress!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that! We are having a very casual, easy going wedding and I ended up picking a bridesmaid’s dress as well.

The dresses you have picked are very bridal (more bridal than the one I chose). They are beautiful. I love the first one 🙂

This is mine… which is very bridesmaid-y but I love how simple it is 🙂

The Bridesmaid or Best Man dress looks just like the wedding dress you posted.  I’d do it.

@UKbee:  My friend wore a champagne Bridesmaid or Best Man dress as her gown and it was gorgeous!  I really love a lot of the Watters and Jim Hjelm Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses as bridal gowns as well.

I think it’s a great idea! I tried on one bridesmaid dress when I was looking, and nobody would have been able to tell it wasn’t a wedding dress. Just find the dress you love (regardless of the label) and go for it!

There are plenty of gorgeous bridesmaid dresses out there, that when made in white or ivory, look completely bridal as well!  I say go for it!!
