Alas, Summer has officially ended in our house with the SO getting back into classes and I find that I feel just a little disappointed. Of course I knew I wouldn’t recieve a ring this Summer because he only just started looking and with the stress of moving and class registration it would have been too much… but the waiting boards know what I mean when I say that I was secretly hoping to be proved wrong.
So, since I’m pretty sure that was my last chance until Christmas break, I’m going to pick up a hobby. What should I choose? I have a keyboard, violin and art supplies already.

@happyface: Yeah, but with classes and TAing, he’s going to be up to his eyeballs in homework and grading so Summer ends early around here. 🙂

Roller derby. You will make a lot of amazing friends, you’ll get a jump start on getting in shape for the wedding (or just for health reasons, if you’re already happy with the way you look), and you’ll have something to take up your time from two to four nights a week, plus fundraisers, socials, parades and photo shoots.

My guy plays the piano, but I’ve always wanted to play the violin.

voted for violin, but i’ll add a tiny comment on that. i’ve been playing violin for 15 years now, and although it’s an amazing instrument, trust me – first (and sometimes second) year sounds like cats’ screwing and is a torture to any person who happens to have ears. not even mentioning those with absolute pitch. learning to play takes a lot of home practice, so if you don’t live alone, buy your roommates/neighbours some earplugs. :3
