*chuckle*

Yes–and every bride does. From the second you announce your engagement EVERYONE will have an opinion on what you decide to do. EVERYONE. From the color of your BM’s dresses to the color of your underwear. Get used to smiling politely and getting on your merry way–can’t please ’em all!

(the examples you’re giving aren’t unusual at all–and even if they were, you’d still be okay to do them! It IS your wedding after all!)

Ohhh boy, welcome to the club! πŸ™‚ I seriously feel like everything I say there is someone telling me all the reasons why I shouldn’t do it. I am only 22 so my family feels like because I am so young “I don’t know what I want.” But I politely explained to all of them that it is MY big day and I am going to treat it as such πŸ™‚ I love birdcage veils, (although the look quite silly on me) and I am very opposed to fake flowers (I am a little biased though because my mom is a florist), I think real flowers are just so much prettier…haha πŸ™‚ Just smile and nod when they talk and then do what you want anyways! Good luck!

@ccranetobe: I agree!

We aren’t sharing too much info about the wedding. Some of our relatives are upset because they want to give input. But, they aren’t paying for it and it’s not their wedding.

I got this about somethings so i started e-mailing pictures to my mom and friends to better show what i was talking about. Once they starting seeing pictures it helped. They were actually able to see how that crazy idea can look very cool when done right! Try sending them some pics of your inspiration and hopefully they will be a little more open minded!

@mannellal: Gray bridesmaids dresses sound chic to me! (but then again, I am on WeddingBee)–I do agree with Allyser, though–a picture is worth a thousand words. And in the case of the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress, show a picture of it with a picture of the bouquet (something close to what you’re going for)–they’re probably thinking your BMs are going to wear gray wool sheaths or something. People often forget there’s cut and fabric choice as well.

Eh, whenever I get questionned on my choices, I look at them and think to myself, “Oh shut up. You’re still going to come anyway AND you’ll LIKE it, dammit.”

grey is super popular right now! We used silver and they eve had grey Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses for the today show wedding! i think this was the dress. Tell them the flowers will stand out so much more with a neutral colored dress πŸ˜‰ and here is a pic of me and some of my girls!

I feel like when it comes to weddings, everyone feels like they are entitled to butt in. Seriously, where did this come from? Did you feel the need to disagree with every other decision I’ve made in my life, from what my major is in school to what I wore today? No, but just because it’s a wedding, you think that what you’re doing is not rude? Argh!!!

Sorry about my little rant there, but yes, as you can tell, I’ve experienced this as well.
