Wow that’s insane!!! My e-ring is an 11.25 and my wedding band is 11.5. Granted I’m 6′ and my hands are porportional and admittedly a little chubby – I’ve never changed sizes no matter what my weight.
So glad you are taking your business elsewhere. Neither store where we purchased the rings said anything about my ring size and neither cost me extra to have them sized.

That’s horrible! I can understand a size 9 ring costing more than a size 6 ring of the same design because more metal, more stones meaning higher cost and longer wait due to needing to order it custom. I could understand a jeweler telling you that as part of helping you stay on budget. But he sounds like he was just being rude.
So, glad you are going elsewhere. There are jewelers that would be more than happy to serve you with your size 9 fingers.

sweetandsour1234: Very rude and unprofessional!

sweetandsour1234: What a douche. So sorry bee. If it makes it any better I have a 10.5 size. Same as shoes. *sigh* shoe shopping is unpleasant, the ring was custom made. If it wasnt a custom made it would have to custom sized cause apparently I have man fingers.

Why should size matter? It’s about the sale. why would a business ever talk this way? That makes no business sense!
My family has a big business of importing trade goods. When i was in high school, I used to help my family business. We would deliver to Walmart and mom and pop stores alike–orders ranging from one box of noodles to two container full of rice. No order is too small or large; if we can make a sale, we will.
His unnecessary comment just cost him money And reputation.

That’s no way to treat a customer. Size 9 isn’t that unusual or we wouldn’t offer rings in a variety of sizes. We can’t all be one size fits all!

My e-ring is an 8.25 and my band is an 8.5 haha. I think I have very propotionate hands to my body! What a dink haha. Don’t take it to heart!

Oh damn…that’s rude. Not every woman has tiny dainty fingers and that’s okay.
You should have taken your “huge” finger and poked him in his eye.
I feel your pain because I am a petite woman with size 9 feet. I look like fucking Sideshow Bob from the ankle down. My feet are way too long and large for my body.

Good for you on walking out. I have size 9 fingers in summer and size 8.25-8.5 fingers in winter. As a result my ring is sized to 8.5 so I don’t lose it. Half the year it looks like my finger has a big ol’ muffin top. Size 9 is NOT freakishly huge, at all!

What a jerk you are, Mr Jeweler.
Another size 9 lady

Wow, how rude, and what an idiot! I wear size 10, and I can think of at least 5 other ladies off the top of my head that wear 10 or larger. Good for you for going somewhere else!

You should’ve been like “the better to punch you with, my dear” and clocked him

sweetandsour1234: I wear a 10.5 …i feel your pain. My ring had to be custom measured and i had to go be fitted numerous times to ” make sure”.10.5 yep. I have Barney Rubble feet and Fred Flintsone fingers lol.

I’m a 4.75 but wear 5 (for swelling) and I hear how I have baby fingers smh. I’m constantly told how “small” my ering is. Ya can’t win!
