my mom had an appendicitis a few months ago…  she had really bad pain on her right side and was worse if she jumped or pushed on that area. she didn’t have any of the other classic symptoms, though.

the mirena can perforate your uterine wall. i have no idea what kind of pain that would cause though.

good luck! let us know what happens!

Doesn’t sound like an appendix to me.  Purely based on your description, with no other questions asked, I would say sounds like it’s more of a girl problem….ovarian cyst, ectopic pregnancy, UTi, something like that.  Appendix ruptures are generally a lot more painful than you describe, plus the “hurts when I pee” symptom screams UTI to me.

Good luck!  I hope you feel better!

I had my appendix removed. I was nauseous and my lower right side hurt so bad, the only way I felt better is if I laid on my right side in the fetal position. I couldn’t stand straight up without crying. I would CERTAINLY have it checked immediately! If it is appendicitis, your appendix could rupture. Pay close attention to the pain, if the sharp pain suddenly goes away, get to the ER because it may have ruptured.

I’m sorry and I don’t mean to scare you but for such a little organ, the appendix can do some serious damage if it ruptured and left unrteated.

I’m not very familiar wil Mirena but I would be examined just to be on the safe side.

Hope you feel better!

I don’t think it’s the Mirena, if it went through the uterine wall, you would probably be in excruciating pain.  That usuallly only happens during insertion though.

I had mine out. What you are describing doesn’t sound like an appendicitis-but I’m not a doctor either.  My symptoms were what felt like heart burn…i thought I was just extremely hung over since i had been drinking A LOT the night before. My appendix didn’t hurt at all even when they were pushing on it.  But i have an extremely high tolerance to pain.  it took the doctors almost 8 hours to figure out what was wrong with me!  But I knew something was wrong since I had asked to be brought to the hospital.

To me it might be a cyst, uti or kidney stone. Good luck at the doctors!  At least they are taking it seriously enough for you to come in today.

Go to the doctor! It may be appendicitis, it may be a UTI, it may be something completely different but go to a doctor! When I was ten, my parents thought I had a UTI but I actually had appenditicis and it ruptured and I almost didn’t make it. The doctor told my parents that if they had waiting another hour I probably would have died. It was the most horrific pain I had ever felt. Please go to a doctor and get it checked out. An appendectomy is such a simple surgery and you will be out in a day and feeling fine. Since mine ruptured I was in the hospital for 3 weeks and missed my 4th grade graduation! 🙂

trust me you will know if you are having appendix problems. i was bent over for hours in pain and crying cause it hurt to bad!!! nothing makes it feel better. you should also be running a fever if it’s happening. i was at like 102 which was the first sign something was really wrong.

you should go in as soon as you can just in case it is. i got mine out just in time. they said if i had waited 20 more minutes it would have ruptured and that is a whole different mess to deal with.

good luck and i hope you feel better. Keep us in the loop!

When I had appendicitis, I was puking up everything that I tried to eat or drink.  when Istopped eating and drinking, I was puking up stomach bile.  Gross, I know, but it was the only way I knew something was wrong.  I thought appendicitis pains were period cramps 🙁

I just saw your post from a few days ago about frequent peeing….I would like to change my vote to probably UTI.  Go get that checked, Miss.Lace!  If that’s what it is, a week of antibiotics and you’ll be cured!

@Ambellina13: I think you and I had similar appendicitis experiences. After 10 hours in the ER and 2 weeks of not holding down food, perhaps it was time for me to get it checked out.

P.S- LOVE your name and avatar! They are my favorite band as well and we are going to see them 4/20 in DC. They are doing the entire “Second Stage Turbine Blade” album plus an acoustic set.

When I had my appendix removed, I wasn’t in a lot of pain.  I also had no nausea nor a fever.  The headache I had from not eating was much worse.  I’ve had similar pain before so I didn’t think much of it then an hour or so later I got stuck on the floor for about 10 minutes and was finally able to get up by rolling around, LOL.  I was thinking “Great!  I have to lay here for 2 hours until Fiance gets home??”  Fiance convinced me to go to CareNow and in the end I had my appendix out.

I would definitely get it checked out NOW like you are doing rather than wait and risk it bursting on you.

@Mrs.LloydDobler: don’t want to threadjack, but yaay!  someone on here knows coheed!  I am seeing them in NYC for SSTB.  I went to Neverender a few years ago and it was AMAZING!  I am trying to decide whether or not I can get away with a Coheed first dance song 🙂

Um yes.  I had appendicitis about a year ago.  It was excruciating and I literally thought I was dying. I called my dad (who used to be a dr) who told me I had to go to the hospital…and if Darling Husband (he was Fiance at the time) couldn’t take me in the next  15 minutes, I had to call the ambulance.
