@Ms. Gertie: Can you afford 8-10 appetizers/person? If so, I would be happy with that. I would make them hot appetizers so people are full. I actually like cocktail receptions. As for liquor. Can you offer red wine, white wine, soda and water? That will be more than enough. If funds are really tight just offer a signature drink, water and soda. It will still be beautiful;0)

I think it’s fine.  I am glad that you are adding a cheese and fruit tray for people to pick from as well.

I think that’s perfectly fine, especially given the time of your wedding.  Most people would probably not expect a dinner reception following a 2 pm wedding.

With 2 pm, as long as people know it is an appetizer reception, its perfectly fine.

I agree, it’s definitely fine! You might want to pack a small lunch (like, sandwiches) for you and the bridal party if you get to the ceremony site early for pictures, just so you can keep your energy up. It’ll be lovely, though!
