This sounds so freaking good. My must haves would be both spring rolls, the fried tofu, satay chicken, meatballs, scallion pancakes, and some kind of dumplings. A lot of meat lovers would eat those vegetarian options too, so it seems like a win win.

Like many others, I would like to come to your wedding! This all sounds amazing! I cna’t choose 8 so I have another piece of advice/something to think on:

Many of your options have sauces. Sauces can drip and be messy. So I would pay attention to how they are served for drip factor and take that into consideration when choosing.

Glasgowbound :  Excellent point, I forgot to mention. I LOVE chicken wings, but there is no way I want to eat a chicken wing, with one hand (cocktail in the other) in my fancy dress while standing. Eat-a-bility is important!

Starch:

– Fried rice balls stuffed with shredded chicken/flaked salmon

Courtesy Vegetarian/Vegan options:

– Sweet potatoe croquettes with mango dressing

jellybellynelly :  Ah my gluttonous self completely had disregarded eat-ability!! On any other day I would pick the chicken wings, but there might be challenges balancing the wing eating act with grace during weddding cocktail hours. I revise the chicken wings to satay chicken skewers 🙂

I work in the catering business and veggie spring rolls and skewers are usually the most popular with wedding crowds!

All of those apps sound yummy! If I had to pick 8, I’d probably go with:

– Peking duck spring rolls with hoisin sauce (ls)

– Vegetable spring rolls with plum sauce (v)

– Sweet and sour Asian meatballs

– Satay chicken skewers

– Grilled scallion pancake with chilli oil filling (vg) (ls)

– Soup dumplings

– Bite-size steak cubes with rose salt

– Sweet potato croquettes with mango dressing (v) (ls)

We didn’t have any vegans on our guestlist but did have a handful of vegetarians, so this does reflect in my choices I guess.

xiexie :  can you invite me, please?  Your menu sounds to die for, even without the apps.

are your guests chinese?

If so, my favorites are spring rolls (who doesnt love spring rolls?), kimchi & peanut dumplings, and peking duck rolls.  xiaolongbao are delicious but unless everyone there knows they’re soup dumplings and how to eat them you’ll get a lot of mess!

if they aren’t chinese I honestly am not a good person to ask, but I will say the pizza and udon soup shooters sound not good, and for the same reason as above i’d *really* avoid the xiaolongbao!

**ETA: I 100% assumed by “soup dumplings” you meant xiaolongbao and not wonton soup.. so if I’m wrong just ignore me.

It is hard to choose without tasting, but off the list I would pick the following but… YUM!

-Vegetable spring rolls with plum sauce (v)

-Sweet potato croquettes with mango dressing (v) (ls)

– Crispy fried tofu wedges with local green onion topping (vg) (ls)

-Fried noodle cakes with vegetable toppings (vg)

-Boneless ribs with Thai BBQ sauce on an edible wanton spoon

-Sweet and sour Asian meatballs

Omg… are all my choices fried! Oops… At least I know what I like!
