I didn’t keep track of the details, but it’s ALWAYS worth leaving home and following your dreams, even if your family doesn’t approve. (As long as you have realistic goals / plans.) Especially if you’re young, it’s such a good experience! Gor for it 🙂

Go for it! I moved from Massachusetts to Florida for law school, and I loved it. I ended up staying in Florida, and while my family would like it if I moved home so I can see them more often, they’re still supportive. If you don’t like it, you can always move back! And its so much easier to move when you’re young before you’re settled in a job with a house and kid (if that’s what you want), you know?

the fact that your alternative is “stay miserable”, I think you should move lol

ETA: Orlando is pretty freaking awesome. I don’t like florida because of the weather but that’s the ONLY complaint I have. I like cold weather so I’m hoping one day to move up north for a while.

@msbriezyb:  I live in the pandhandle (Panama City). Orlando isn’t my favorite city in Florida, but it’s okay. I like living on a coast. I’m hoping to move to Tampa or south Florida (West Palm, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami) in a year or so.

Definitely move to Florida and go for your dream job. Honestly, DC is so expensive to live in anyway so you’ll save a ton in the cost of living, plus actually like your job! I actually work for the government, haha. It isn’t my dream job, but I enjoy what I do. However so many govt jobs are just so awful and boring. Completely unfulfilling.

I left Maryland to go to college in Austin, Texas, I absolutely loved it and wish that I had not come back. Sigh 🙁

I would absolutely move to Florida, do what makes you happy! I’m curious, if you’re dream is to work for Disney why are you getting a masters in Higher Ed.? Have you considered something like Business instead that may suit Disney better? I only ask because I wanted to work at Disney for a long time until I decided that I loved labwork too much to switch majors.
