DH is looking for a new job, and found two great positions listed by the same company. They are slightly different jobs, but lean on the same general set of skills.
Should he apply to both jobs in one cover letter? Or should he apply to them separately? It’s a fairly small company, so I’m pretty sure the interview would be with the same people.
Since I’m an academic, I have NO experience with applying to jobs like this!

He should do them seperatly.

I would only apply to the one he is most qualified for. It will look like “Ill just take anything I can get” vs. “I really want this job” which is not a good first impression. If I got two applications from the same person I would be less likely to interview him/her for either position. Looks too desperate.
If he applies and interviews for the job, a good interviewer will keep all job openings in mind as well incase the person isnt a fit.

Apply for one job only within the company this time. Only one application per company. If he doesn’t get the job and the same company post a similar job in a few weeks or months then apply to the company again.

Thanks! It wasn’t hard to decide which one he preferred.
As I said, no experience on this. Not like anyone ever lists multiple jobs for Shakespeare professors!
