Some of our friends are getting married in July (winter in Australia) and I am having a hard time deciding what to wear.
I’ve recently lost weight so none of my dresses fit, and i’ll need to buy something.
The ceremony and reception is inside in a castle.
I saw this dress and like the colour, but i’m wondering if it is appropriate? How would I accessorise it, especially in regards to keeping warm going in/out of the castle.

I think it’s lovely and definitely appropriate! Some sort of shawl or wrap would be a good option to keep warm outside.

Faux fur wrap or jacket? I like it! I’d wear tights and cute heeled ankle boots with it.
And I totally get what you mean about not having dresses (or any other item of clothing) after losing weight! I dropped from an 18 to a 10-12 and I had to replace my ENTIRE wardrobe from the ground up… so expensive and stressful 🙁 (fun to shop but stressful at the amount of money it costs)

Very pretty and I would say buy it. However, since its winter I would go for a complete floor length dress. But I love the color…its a deep red (stay away from bright red). You can add a long sleeve silver/grayish color bolero. Then you can take it off once inside the castle if you want to, or keep it on.

A nice cashmere or angora cardigan would be fine!

@dannielle89: You could do a bolero or a pashmina, along with some tights or nylons. If it were winter here I would say that you would be fine and just have a dress coat for the ceremony if it’s in a church, but I know that heaters and insulation are uncommon in Australia after living there!
