I’m a guest an outdoor March 31, 2012 wedding. It’s actually my ex-boyfriend’s wedding, and the bride is pregnant and crazy (literally), so I’m looking to stand out.
Is the dress in the link appropriate to wear, in ivory?
I also have a fitted, knee-length, short-sleeved hot pink Ann Taylor that I could wear, as well.

Thank you ladies for your responses, especially to those of you that weren’t so in-your-face and somewhat rude.
I assure you this is not a fake post; I’m a 27-year old in west Georgia and had been googling appropriate wedding wear. I came across this board and decided to give it a shot and get feedback. After discussing it with my best friend and seeing your replies, I’ll wear the pink dress.

Taking this post at face value ,this dress in ivory would not be appropriate for a guest to wear to any wedding.

I hope you didn’t think I was being rude. Pink’s a good choice.

No, it’s not appropriate.
Don’t try to compete with the bride even if she is “pregnant and crazy” she’s still going to win at her own wedding.

I don’t understand, why would you be looking to “stand out?” Unless Bostongrl25
is right and that was a typo?

No ivory. The dress would look super cute in Jade or Navy. =)

Yay for pink. =) Cute dress you found.

Honestly, if you’re going to stand out and show up the bride, you shouldn’t go. It’s not appropriate to ever wear ivory to a wedding unless you’re the bride. And going with the attitude of “and the bride is pregnant and crazy (literally), so I’m looking to stand out,” coupled with the fact that it’s an ex… why are you going anyway?

You weren’t rude at all! Thank you!
I think pink is yay, too! Thanks!

My mom, the groom’s parents and I all work together. I think the world of his parents, and am going for their sake. Their daughter recently got married, and I think it would be rude if I went to her wedding but not his. However, I know they would understand if I didn’t go, but again, I think it would be rude of me considering how much I think of them.

In your original post you said you wanted to stand out. Is that really your intention, or was that a typo?

Well obviously, Ivory is a big no no. Youll stand out either way if you JUST go– being his Ex and all.. but atleast dont look like your trying to steal the spotlight from the bride. 🙂
