@kem2012:  If you really strongly respect his parents, then please don’t show up to their son’s wedding trying to “show him what he’s missing.” Even if you don’t care how the groom and bride may be hurt over this, if you say you respect the parents then please try to think of them and how THEY will be hurt and upset if their son/DIL are upset at the wedding. It won’t be worth ruining your relationship with them even if you accomplish your goal.

@kem2012:  Then I think it’s best if you kindly decline the invite. This day is about two people starting their life together, it’s not about you. The bride and groom will be the only one’s standing out that day.

And just remember. Karma is a b****. Someday when you are getting married, I hope nobody is looking to upstage you.

If your main intention is to upstage the bride then I would politely decline. It’s incredibly rude IMO and not at all respectful of his parents.
