- Wedding: October 2011
Hello all, I need some advice.
My boss (my direct boss) is getting married in May and my fiance and I have been invited to his wedding. I’m super excited to go as we have a great professional and also personal (not in an inappropriate way) relationship and I consider him a friend. Several other immediate team members are invited as are other colleagues outside our immediate team. I should note that he and his future wife are invited to my wedding come fall.
It’s an in-state wedding, about a 3 hour drive from my house (which is not an issue as it’s in an area that I am very familar with) and we’d stay at a hotel at least 1 night, maybe 2.
My question is, what would be a good gift? I had initally thought of giving $250 as that’s in our average gift range, but I wondered if giving something “not cash” would be better. They bought a house last year and are both in the late thirties. (i’m in my late 20s) Any thoughts? I’m not opposed to an actual gift, but I would definitely spend a similar amount on an actual gift that I would cash.
