I would definitely say all of the things you listed are appropriate!

I put on the following star wars items:  cookie cutter, cupcake stencils, pancake molds, apron…. maybe I’m no help.

I’m in the same situation as you. I just went through my house and anything that needed to be replace (re: 100 years old, broken, etc.) I put on the registry.

If you’re acquainted with well-off individuals, a $120 shower curtain should be no problem.  However, if you have mostly average income guests, I can most likely bet that you won’t be receiving that shower curtain.  I would NEVER pay $120 for a shower curtain. If it were a vacuum or some other useful appliance, then I would consider spending that much.  People are going to look at that and think that it is a splurge, not something that is really going to benefit you and your FH.  I know you said you don’t really need anything, but maybe you’d like to upgrade on some things?

I’m sure were putting DVD’s and electronics on ours because like you we’ve already lived together a year and I’ve lived in this house alone for 5 years before that. My Fiance want’s to add a $500 camera on it and I’m all for that! If my entire family pitches in to buy that camera for us that would be all I need lol. I don’t care if those things are okay or not they are things we would like to have and we already have everything we need… if they would rather give us money I’m more than happy with that too. Even if we got nothing I wouldn’t mind because we aren’t really in need of anything…

We did upgrades. All our stuff is crap we got free or crap we bought cheap, even though we are in our 30s – we just never bought nice houseware for ourselves. I put a ton of OXO Good Grips kitchen gadgets on the registry (and we just got the most awesome salt/pepper grinder set shipped to us). Nice appliances (bread maker, standing mixer, etc.). Bathroom set, new towels, etc. etc. I’m crossing my fingers that someone gets us our Corelle ware dish set and silverware, because our current silverware and dishes are chipped and old.

Obviously cash is nice too, but once we starting thinking about upgrading everyday stuff instead of getting fine china or junk we didn’t need, it was really fun.

@thehoneybear:Originally I said we just shouldn’t do a registry but then a few months ago people started asking wht kind of gifts we’d like to get… I said anything and they looked at me confused and asked what we liked or if we had any ideas to give them… That’s when I decided a registry is a good way of letting people know what we like even if it’s nothing they want to buy at least they know lol.

@thehoneybear: lol that’s why I said DVD’s… anyone that knows us knows were huge movie people… we have over 2000 dvd’s currently!
