I have been feeling quite burnout lately…
I spent a lot of my earlier days in the planning with this stop – go feeling where some days I had a lot I was getting accomplished, then weeks would go by before I picked up on my ‘to do’ list.
Though now that it’s less than 3 months to go and I STILL have much to do, I feel like just about every minute is filled with ‘wedding stuff!!’ and it’s driving me crazy! 🙁
I’m so tired right now…haha.
- This holiday weekend I hope to finish these wedding plans –
- Finish the rest of my invites *I am STILL working on them (yes, I took it upon myself to make my own from scratch..sigh! 🙂 ) and get them mailed out by Tues., Feb 22.
( I sent out 7 of my ~50 invites *~100 guests* the other day as they live the farthest away).
- Find and buy/order my veil and shoes
- Write out my Bridal Shower (which happened last Saturday) thank yous
- Finalize what is needed for my FI’s tux and ones for the GMs
Then I still need to do these things:
My first fitting is on March 13 (Sunday) and I’ve been bad with my eating/exercise lately and need to get on the ball with that!! ACK!
I have some of my accessories picked out – like using lil’ Swarovski earrings from my Mom and looking to use my FMIL’s grandmother’s Swarovski necklace 😉 but it needs to be re-strung…
Make sure my BM’s jewelry gets done (ordered from Etsy)…;)
Figure out exactly what to do about my hair/makeup….
Finalize everything with venue
Make sure cake and flowers is squared away…
AND so on..
Are you April 30 brides as stressed as I am? or am I alone? haha

Um…I’m bad. I should probably be feeling stressed, but I’m not.
I need to finish getting all the addresses/then address my invites. I plan to mail them 7 weeks before the wedding.
I need to have a bustle added to my gown and have get to contact the seamstress.
I need to rent chairs, finish music, figure out gift for my SIL who is doing a reading for us, buy/cook food, assemble the favors… these are all things that I need to do later, though…except for the SIL gift.

@Missrobots: Well glad to hear you’re calm feeling…nice that you can have those things still and not be freaking out. 😉
Yeah, I still need to figure out my bustle too – but that will be at my first fitting I think.
Oh yeah AND I need to finalize everything for vows, music for ceremony.reception – and the helpful part about this part is that my Future Mother-In-Law is our officiant and our DJ is my FI’s cousin – so I know how to reach them, etc. 🙂
Yes, we need to figure out favors too! (We’re thinking Lindt truffles.) What are you doing?
Good luck with the gift for your SIL- nice!

The details are pretty much all that I have left to do and they are driving me NUTS! I’m starting to regret thinking I could DIY so many things lol.

I finally got my dress into the seamstress but I’ve since gained a little weight since I tried it on and I am now on a quick workout mode to lose some lbs. I am waiting on my new invites from zazzle so I can send them out. I have to go and rent a table skirt for my cake table because my reception hall only supplies the ivory ones and I want black. I still need to decorate my chinese boxes for my candy buffet and make my card box. I’m sure there’s something else, I just can’t think of it right now.

I’m stealing Miss Earing’s favors. We have the jars and have cut out all the fabric. My mom is going to make the labels for me on her cricut. Just need to assemble them all…we’ll probably do that the weekend before the wedding.
I’m pretty laid back about the whole affiar. I have tried to keep it as simple as possible. I’m sure there will be details I miss, but the overall experience will be great. We’re DIY a lot, but I have a lot of great family/friends who are helping.

Yeah, I too feel stressed about the DIY things…but at the same time feel that those DIY things are special, so it’s more a labor of love I guess. 😉
@missrobots: Nice favor idea too. 😉 My Fiance is always telling me to keep things simple…sigh! haha..but as I’m more of a detailed person, it’s hard to do that.
I am looking forward to seeing how everything turns out!

@smiles1979: You are absolutely right! It will be so worth it in the end! 🙂

I’m with you, ladies! the details are definitely harder to figure out than I thought! Every time I turn around it feels like I remember one more thing that I need to make a decision on. It sounds like a lot of you are DIYing lots of things for your wedding. Have you started on programs yet? I’d love to just design them in Word and get them printed at Kinko’s or something but I have no idea where to start. Any thoughts on where to get a good template? I’d like to do like a little booklet with a few pages.

Does anyone have a timeline? My ceremony starts at 4:30 and if someone has theirs ready, can I see it? I have no idea what time to get up and start getting ready.
@smiles1979: I am mailing out our invitiations Feb. 28th, so pretty close to you….can I ask what date you put on the RSVP cards for people to return by? I put March 25th, but I just pulled that outta thin air!
@xshellx2003: I don’t really have a timeline typed up yet or anything, but mine also starts at 4:30pm and my hairdresser said we should start at 9am…keep in mind that it will probably differ compared to how many ladies need their hair done (I will have 9 including myself, BMs, and mothers).
I am definately stressin! I think I have made things way harder for myself by taking on DIY invitations and projects, but I know I will love it that much more on the big day! Here are the main things I need to get done so far:
-All silk bouquets & corsages
-Writing the ceremony with my Pastor
-Final dress fittings
-Attending my showers & Bachelorette party!
-Hair & Makeup trial
-Decide seating arrangements & make a table chart
Those are the main things..I have other DIY projects I am working on but those I can always cut out if I run out of time.

@Coleerenee – Hi! 🙂 Actually I have March 11 as my RSVP date! I picked that date a while back b/c my venue needs some info. confirmed by March 30 and I figured that the March 11 would give me some time to get things together once I got my RSVPS back. However, I’m STILL working on my invites! sigh! haha.. I HOPE to get the rest of them done tonight though! As I know the more I still need to work on them the less time guests have to reply! Ack!
I too feel I overdid things by wanting to DIY my invites from scratch…but I feel they will be unlike anyone else’s and even if others don’t care as much as I do (haha) it’s something special to me.
While I still have invites to complete…I DID get some things accomplished over the holiday weekend that I set out to do! 🙂
- my Fiance and I went to pick out the tux/vest/tie for him and his GMs! yay!
- Got my veil AND shoes yesterday (President’s Day)!! 🙂
(chapel veil and blue shoes – initially didn’t expect to love them, but am really glad I got them! (Both from DB too!))
- Finished my Bridal Shower Thank yous!
- Have at least a potential place for hair/makeup for wedding…
- My BMs jewelry is on it’s way to me from Etsy seller! 🙂
- Also, my Fiance and I got our ceremony/vows planned out! 🙂
- Started to at least pick out flavors for the Lindt choc. truffle favors! 🙂
I personally won’t be doing programs or menus. While they are nice to have, it’s just a project I didn’t take on (or plan to pay for).
@xshellx: I still have to figure out my timeline too! My ceremony is at 5:30pm, but still don’t have ironed out plans for hair/makeup just yet and when I’ll need to be at the hotel to get ready…so you’re not alone! (hugs!)
Also…my Fiance and even his bestman (haha) said that me having my hair down for the wedding would look good – but I still thought having it up would be nice..haha. So, still not sure about that either.
At least I feel a little more accomplished..and just have to keep making the most of my evenings and weekend days from now on – til the wedding.
Good luck ladies!
