I hear you, mine was 4 months from yesterday!!! I’m so excited but getting overwhelmed now. I still NEED to…

– Put invitations together and send
– Purchase groom’s wedding band
– Register for gifts
– Look at tuxes for the groomsmen
– Get accessories for bridesmaids
– Get gifts for parents
– Schedule dress fitting
– Finalize menu with caterer
– Arrange day of transportation
– Decide on a hair salon and have trial
– Send thank you cards after bridal showers

Feels like I’ll never be able to finish it all!

This time last month I was really relaxed and felt that we still had plenty of time. But then December rolled in and I’ve started to feel a bit anxious that we have so much left to do. The biggest thing left to do is to book a band for the reception – we’ve been looking for ages and have had real trouble finding one that we like/is available that weekend/is in our budget. I do not like not having such a big thing unbooked 4 months out!

But…I know it will all come together (it has to!).

I’ve still got to send invites, sort out songs cd, pay off our rings, get the boys suits.

Yesterday we finalised catering – yay!

Today I’m sick. Wedding prep 0 – sickness 1

If it makes any of you feel better, we haven’t even decided what we’re doing yet. Except that it’ll be in April 🙂 But then we won’t be doing anything that involves much planning, so I’m sure it’ll be fiiiiine…!

@misscupcake2012:  I used Microsoft word! I thought about buying a template but ,like you, I thought “waste of money”

I edited the word document to a “brochure” and printed it on kraft paper. Then I just folded a 8×11 in half. Craft stores also sell program paper and they tell you what to use on Microsoft.

@misscupcake2012: I felt like spring_bee, and was somewhat relaxed until Dec rolled around…and I just realized christmas is 2 weeks from weds, new years 3 weeks and then we’ll officially be at the 90 day countdown.

Just this week we purchased the wedding bands, booked the transportation, set up hotel room blocks. I still have to:

  • select caterer
  • purchase Bridesmaid or Best Man jewelry ( my gift to them)
  • choose tuxedos
  • book honeymoon suite
  • book plane tix for honeymoon
  • plan rehearsal dinner
  • gather guest list
  • address invitation
  • select bridal head piece
  • book make up & hair
  • select wedding  & reception music

Thankfully the list is getting smaller and smaller. Im just ready to get there now!

I was happy to see this subject in the boards at first but when I started reading through it my stomach started feeling that fiery anxiety way!  I think I am SO behind.  And even the contracts/vendors I do have are just “booked” with no real set framework yet.  (DJ is booked but we have not discussed music, caterer is booked but we do not have a menu yet, etc)

Here is where I’m at:

Venue booked, ceremony & reception same venue (half paid for)

Dress ordered (half paid for)

Bands purchased

Officiant made legal officiant (uncle)

Guest List near complete

Have basic framework for ceremony but still need script

Prelimiary meeting for invitations (follow up next week)

1 of 2 Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses ordered, this is not really on my “to do” list, the other Bridesmaid or Best Man will get hers when she gets hers.

Bridesmaid or Best Man Gifts almost done

Caterer & DJ booked but zero plans have been established, 20% deposits paid)

Have ideas for most parents/siblings gifts but not purchased yet

I know what florist I will work with but only casually reached out to her so far (I already know her)

Hotel rooms blocked

Day of Coordinator (not paid yet)

Valet booked & deposit paid

Quote for shuttle buses between hotel & wedding but not booked

Honeymoon rentals booked.

What I don’t have:

Hair/makeup person

Add-ons like photo booth, etc.

Zero decor scheme

Groomsmen gifts

Groom & Groomsmen attire

Family Gifts

Logistics (boarding our dog, hotel room for BMs to get ready, our own hotel reservations, afterparty location, morning after brunch location)

I had a perfectly nice cake tasting with a perfectly good company/sales girl but for some reason I never pick up the phone & book them!  I don’t know what that psychosis is about but it’s definitely like a “thing”, a weird thing I’m doing by not doing.

I was so freaked out by the dress (my dress) and procrastinated until last month.  Now I’m freaked out by photographer & decor.

Oy vey…. all this stuff gives my nerves a run for their money!

Will someone please tell me if I’m on track or way behind?

yehyehgirl  Glad you made a list….I completely forgot about boarding our dog!!!Yell. I think you’re well on your way. You’ve got a lot done so far!

@misscupcake2012:  I’m so ready to get married, it’s like a kid the night before christmas. I’m ready to see if all that we planned will work together as we planned. I’m ready to be Mrs Groomzilla, I’m ready to start a family and there are 117 days in between me and that goal…..LOL.  I do stress about a few things here or there, but the anxiety of waiting is the most stress.  I feel like we’ve been planning and talking about this weddding forever. We started planning n Aug 2012. Let’d do it already
