ladyvictoria : I had mine a few months ago and I was TERRIFIED before. The best part was it is so, so fast. My tubes weren’t blocked and I still found it quite painful (kind of like your worst cramps plus a hot, burning feeling from the dye). However, just when I was getting to a point where I couldn’t handle it, it was done. I had bad cramps after for an hour and then nothing- not even spotting. Overall, it wasn’t fun but not nearly as bad as I hyped it up to be. Good luck, let us know how it goes!
Took a home progesterone test and it was low so I know for sure I didn’t O on vacay 👌
angel_baby_12_9 : I agree with anev in that the things he wants to run are very normal tests to rule things out. I understand your frustration with him not wanting to monitor this cycle but at the same time he didn’t start it so I assume it’s because it began under a previous doctor. Not sure his reasoning but just guessing. Hoping some answers come out of the testing for sure. W
lucky_charm : welcome poas buddy! We are on the same day this cycle. Hoping for more BFPs this month!
ctinaxox : welcome and baby dust to you as welll! I think I would have flipped at that doctor. That is not a way to talk to someone who clearly has been through some hard times and is struggling to get pregnant. Relax?! Yeah. Ok. 🙄 thattttt will get ya pregnant. Geez. If that were the case we would all be pregnant already. Sorry. Went on a bit of a tangent. Anyways, I’m frustrated with you.
RaccoonKitty : I don’t like the progesterone supps either but they’re not horrible. First pee after and first pantiliner have gross yellow stuff in it, but it’s not leaving me with a weird smell or anything. Just weird discharge.
Dfitzy : I hear the PIO is painful too? Hoping all this effort brings you a sticky baby.
ladyvictoria : you sure can hang around this month! No worries. Hoping surgery to fix the variocele works. My uncle had that done and they went on to have 5 kids naturally including a set of twins. We have tons of snow still but I’m really liking the 40-50s temps so it melts. We can finally see some grassy areas.
ladyvictoria : oh. And for the HSG it isn’t too bad, just cramps that can be intense but only for a short time. Take something for pain beforehand. I spotted for quite a few days with weird discharge for a few days. I hear it is more painful when there is a blockage but I didn’t have one so I can’t say.
ChiTownBee27 : welcome back! And baby dust to you as well. Hoping for some answers and a cycle to work soon even if it’s an IUI one!
danakxox : hello there 🙂 baby dust to you as well. Keep those supplements up!
Dr_dazzle : welcome to this month! Hoping for some luck!
anev : aww man. Sorry you’re here too but welcome back to another round. Hoping this month brings some good juju. Surprisingly it hasn’t been as wet as I thought it would be outsixd here, being we got 30 inches of snow in february along with the snow in other months. Ick.
sophie89 : welcome back and good luck this month! We opened our windows yesterday for a couple hours and it felt so so good to have some fresh air go through the house. We also both got a “spring cleaning” hair up our butts and got a lot of stuff done.
danakxox : yay! Still more time to try!!!!! How was your vacation?
AFM I had something this last week. Throat sore, white patches on my swollen tonsils, and a headache once in a while….but no fever, rash, tired feelings more than my normal for the last 15+ years, etc. and no strep. I was researching and it could be a reaction to all the dairy I ate at the beginning of the month (to try helping follicles grow) or some viral thing that just needed to work its way out. The tonsils are going back down, white patches are minimal and throat no longer hurts today. All that started 2 days before my IUI but they weren’t super concerned. My temp hasn’t changed much, although I did have a different combo of meds and stuff this cycle. I’m stopping temping til closer to AF for my own peace of mind, although I feel like I will be anxious not doing it also. We shall see. I also started progesterone supps twice a day…..they’re weird. Not as gross as I thought they would be but I don’t like the odd discharge. My ovidrel trigger is almost out at 4dpiui, but the beginning few days were darker than the last cycle. Praying so hard this is the one for us!!!
NicLE1218 : Yes PIO shots are painful, it’s an 1 1/2″ long needle so it’s pretty big, and the girth of the needle is quite large too. I found it’s better to ice the area before hand, but even with that you end up sore a few hours after the shot is given. I’m glad you’re feeling better. That’s awesoeme the trigger shot is almost out of your system, mine always lasted 14 days!
Edited to add: AFM, I started the estradiol patches this weekend. They make me into a crazy person. I am so ready to flip out over any little thing. I really hate them.
sophie89 : Yikes! I’m thinking of taking the day off of work just in case I have bad cramping aterwards… And heck, it’s a Friday and spring break. Thanks for sharing your experience!
NicLE1218 : Wow! Your uncle’s results are amazing! Our urologist told us to not expect a miracle since my husband has azoospermia rather than low count. But I’m still low key hoping for some kind of miracle LOL In terms of weird discharge, do you mean weird because you don’t usually have it or something else?
ladyvictoria : Another person chiming in on the HSG. It was over really quick – I did have some pretty severe cramps while they were putting the dye in but they didn’t last very long. I had a little bleeding after, but it wasn’t bad. I had no other bleeding or cramping afterwards though.
AFM I’m just waiting for my period. I stopped progesterone on Saturday (Day 13) after multiple negative tests. My temps are still pretty high today but I had another BFN so…anytime now, period. Let’s get this cycle started.
Your age/partner’s age: 35/33

Usual Cycle Length: 27-28 (used to be shorter 25-27 but have shifted to 27-28)

Known fertility issues: MFI (low volume, low count, low morph, low everything)
BFP Plan (BD Timing, supplements, charting, prenatals, etc.): timing, prenatals, CoQ10, Royal Jelly. Dh is on proxeed and vitamins. Hoping I can get authorization in time to do an IUI
Trying anything new this month?: new RE
Link to your chart if charting:
For fun: Favorite spring activity where you are?: going to Central Park and just being outside in general without a big parka, finally!
Just got off the phone with my new insurance (Oxford) and found out that although our new insurance finally matches the state we live in there is ZERO IVF coverage. IUIs are covered with prior pre-authorization only. They won’t tell me how many are covered. It’s just “up to them to decide.”
Bees, I almost broke down crying on the phone. Our old out of state coverage covered up to 4 retrievals but we couldn’t use it in our current state of residence so we switched (long story) and now under the new one there’s nothing…
IUIs are great but they won’t work for us since we have MFI. We need IVF ICSI and now there’s no coverage. Nothing. We can’t afford to pay out of pocket. Darling Husband thinks we can but we really can’t. We could maybe afford one round but if that doesn’t work then what?
Has anyone used one of the financing companies for IVF? What was your experience like?
Dfitzy : eeee! That doesn’t sound like fun at all. And when pregnancy is achieved it has to be up to 12 weeks then too right? Ouch! Yeah I’m glad the trigger is almost out also.
ladyvictoria : my uncle had possible azoospermia too if the variocele surgery didn’t work. I don’t know 100% of the details because it’s the side of the family I’m not a huge fan of so I don’t ask details. Hoping for a few sperm to come through or be in there for you guys!! My husband has azoospermia with no obstruction so there wasn’t much to do….which is why we are using donor sperm. And the weird discharge is from the progesterone suppositories since they have to be vaginal. It’s like a weird yellow color from the capsule that gets stuck up there.
