NicLE1218 :  yes this cycle is much faster for you!!

My last Femara cycle (6/6) was basically like a normal cycle. I oed at my normal non Femara time and my LP was only 10 days with spotting. :(. I called my obgyn yesterday and asked the secretary if he’d consider Rx progesterone. I’m not sure he will (which is SO annoying), but when I saw him last week he said the spotting shows a P deficiency even though I test in the normal range. I should hear back today. Given I still have a 2-3 month wait to get into the fertility clinic (and it’s not something we will just “try” once I get to the fertility clinic… I really hope he does

anev :  Push to get the progesterone. My RE told me that he didn’t care if my levels were normal (which they were), as long as I was spotting he considered it abnormal. You’re in Canada right? I am too.

NicLE1218 :  Aren’t they the best? So icky but if they work I’d take them for the whole pregnancy if I had to.

Got the strongest+OPK I’ve ever had 2 days ago on a temp spike after the steady temps. Yesterday my temps dropped to the lowest they’ve been all cycle but the OPK was still + (not as strong but +), today, my temp dropped a little more so I’ll test again this afternoon. PRAYING the egg drops today since we’ve BD’ed the past 4 nights in a row so I’ve slept in it all night and kept a softcup in for half the day afterwards. The O pains are real the past 2 days, like stop me in my tracks pains so FX the egg is big and strong ready to fertilize and implant.

heartandstars :  he said no for progesterone, then refused to see me until the end of May (my fertility clinic appt timeline is May-June). Where are you in Canada? This frustration actually makes me want to move. Or travel for care. Open to clinic suggestions (I’m on the east cost, we will likely do one cycle here for government incentive but after that if it’s not successful we will be going elsewhere if it’s faster).

danakxox :  pre o temp dip????

anev :  that’s so frustrating. I’m so sorry. Im in Ontario and we are going to a fertility clinic in Toronto. You can self-refer to it, according to their website.  DM me if you want the name of it.

danakxox :  FX you caught it! Hope there’s a temp rise tomorrow!

heartandstars :  I saw on another thread your wait time was 12 weeks! I’ve been told we won’t be seen until May or June and we were referred in Dec (I think this is cycle 21 with unexplained). I’ve heard there are a lot of really good clinics in Toronto, I just wish I had a free place to stay – I have a few friends there but I think it would be a huge imposition to ask to stay with someone for 2 weeks! :(. I do have a free place in Ottawa but that clinic doesn’t really have great reviews. Argh.

I’m still mad my obgyn won’t give me progesterone when all of my natural LPs have been 10ish days with several days of spotting (14 on letrozole and no spotting). He even agreed that it looked like a LP defect even though my P is “okay” at 22. My naturopath wants P to be higher like 40-50!

anev :  That is so frustrating, and I’m so mad on your behalf!! If he thinks its an LP defect, why not treat it??? The fertility specialist OBGYN we initially saw also did the same. He refused to give me progesterone because my levels were normal. I started acupuncture, vitamin b6 and vitamin c after he refused, and did manage to lengthen my LP by two days but still had spotting. I’m still angry that we had 3 months where I could have been on progesterone.

heartandstars :  my obgyn makes me irate. He actually said to me “if you’re ovulating, and there’s normal semen and your tubes aren’t blocked you’ll get pregnant”. Umm what?? Then there’s be no unexplained infertility! My naturopath put me on high dose of vit C, and I’m in b6 and acupuncture too!  Has your RE given you progesterone?

anev :  Yes, the RE at the fertility clinic prescribed the prometrium. The OBGYN did nothing.

Your OBGYN also sounds like an idiot. Yes in theory all of us ovulating, non tube blocked, lots of sperm people should be able to get pregnant buuuuut we aren’t for some reason. Has he never heard of DNA fragmentation of the sperm? Low quality eggs? Lining thinness and luteal defect? It makes you wonder how some people become doctors.

Good thing you have a naturopath too. It sounds like you are doing everything right! Keep at it with the acupuncture and supplements until your appointment. Have you gotten the call yet for the appointment?

danakxox :  FX for you!

anev :  I had a gynaecologist who didn’t support us being put forward for IVF on NHS because my cycle is like clockwork, bloods all good, endometriosis all removed and D.H’s SA normal. 20 cycles with good timing and not even a CP (not that I’d hope for that) pretty much says there has to be SOMETHING if it’s not to do with endometriosis. We don’t have RE’s available to see on the NHS.

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day in UK so I’ll be staying of IG and Facebook just like last year!

anev :  my LP is 10 days, sometimes less, with spotting. I bring it up every time I see the gynaecologist but they always say it’s nothing to worry about as my 7dpo progesterone test was fine :/ I really think it’s a big part of the problem. It can be an endo symptom but it hasn’t changed since my lap. The one thing that gives me hope is that the cycle I had my CP I still spotted but then it stopped and I got a BFP, but then I started bleeding 2 days later. I’ve heard low progesterone can be a reason for early miscarriage too.

Sorry to hear you’re having a similarly frustrating experience with your doctor 🙁

heartandstars :  your RE sounds great! I’m terrified of pessaries though. I’d rather have injections and I’m scared of needles!

EllyAnne :  sorry to hear your endo is coming back 🙁 glad you’re enjoying the accupuncture. I get your pain re Mother’s Day today. It sucks. I’m taking my mum for brunch then going to come home and be kind to myself.

NicLE1218 :  haha those are funny dreams! Did you wake up still feeling a bit cross with your husband for what he did in the dreams? That’s happened to me before.
