I clicked on this post while laughing insanely to myself… no really.

I feel VERY unprepared, so I shall return later with a fat to-do list… time to buckle down!!!

i can’t believe it’s only 1 month to go.  i get a bit anxious when i think that it’s almost here.

sometimes i feel like i have everything under control and then i realize there are so many things that i haven’t thought about yet like bathroom baskets, bride emergency kit, etc.  i better put those on my list while i am thinking about them.

we are flying home for our wedding so i have delegated a lot of things to people i trust.  my aunt is making my cake.  i just had to send her a pic and i trust it will be as i expect.  my florist is someone i know and she does beautiful work so i again i just email her a pic of what i like and put the rest in her hands.

rsvp’s have until the end of this week and they are almost all in.  just waiting for 2 couples to respond.

how are you ladies doing with your plans?

@mypinkshoes:  Ugh I WISH I was only waiting on two couples! My respond-by date is April 1 (this weekend!) and I’m still waiting on EIGHTEEN RSVPs. SO. IRRITATING.

@booberry:  omg, 42 rsvp’s still?  it must be a big wedding.  (i didn’t even send out that many invites).

successful day of diy yesterday.  finished my table numbers, wish box cards, menus and place setting cards.  i just have to put a small coloured flower on the place cards to match what meal they chose.  still have to finish my tissue flowers for my pomanders.  i have done half.  i put my fi in charge of the music.  i gave him a deadline of the end of the month to have all of the music downloaded and sound equalized.  if it’s not done, i’m hiring a dj.  (he doesn’t want that)

how are you ladies doing with your plans?

@mypinkshoes:  We invited a little over 200 people, hoping the wedding would end up being about 150. We just got one more RSVP in the mail today (yay!) and are now up to 122 people.

My Fiance and I picked up our marriage license a few days ago, and our final walk-through at our venue is on Monday.

My mom and I have have been making napkins/fabric escort seating cards (inspired by this Martha Stewart project ). So there is a different fabric for each table’s napkins, and the swatch on the escort card matches the napkin fabric. All the napkins but we have to do the table arrangements before we can put the swatches on the escort cards!

I am also doing homemade salted caramels for our wedding favors. I didn’t want to start making them before this month so they would be fresh, but I have perfected my recipe and plan to start making them en masse this weekend.

Writing about all of this in one place makes me feel a little DIY crazy… it’s been fun though 🙂  Hopefully I won’t regret the caramels!

One month can’t believe it!

I met with the DJ yesterday. Flowers are all set. Started programs, hoping to lock them down by the end of next week. Same for table number cards. Got the marriage license yesterday.

Biggest thing on my brain right now is the ceremony music and the pastor. My Mom has this idea of a singer and the Pastor has gone MIA. I’m still upset about it so I can’t even talk about it.

@booberry:  love your escort card idea.  and those caramels sound incredible.  are they hard to make?  we are ordering mint chocolate smoothies (not the drink) from this amazing specialty chocolate store for our favours.  i just have to put them in the favour boxes.

finished my seating chart today, yes, already.  with that done i could finish my escort diy project.  we are having pictures taken of each couple or family as they come into the wedding.  we are having a 10′ backdrop with our logos and names on it (like on the red carpet).  we will have these pics developed immediately so that 2 hours later when it’s time for dinner, they will just have to find their picture. the little stand has their names and table # on it.  they get to keep their picture and i will get one of each too.

Ugh, how are you ladies reaching out to your non-RSVPs? I dread having to do so.

@maraschino:  phone calls and emails.  i email them often anyways so if i hadn’t received the rsvp, i would just casually mention it in the email.  but i think normally it’s a phone call.

@mypinkshoes: This is the recipe I am using, if you want to make them: http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2010/01/salted-butter-caramels/ (but I am only cooking them to 248 degrees F so they are a little softer). It is easy as long as you have an accurate thermometer!

I love the picture escort card idea – will someone be in charge of matching pictures to names and then setting them out? Hopefully not you 🙂
