MrsAlice:  DH suggested perhaps we don’t use as much next time so we’re going to try that. I felt like I’d wet myself the amount of stuff there was! hahaha!!!

Warning: Vent approaching

So my doctor decided to do blood work for me to confirm I’m ovulating, as it’s been 7 cycles of trying, my cycle length has been all over the place, AND I randomly spotted for 5 days mid-cycle last month. She said to do OPK’s this month to get an idea of when I may ovulate, and then go back in for day 21 lab work. Okay, cool. Well I got a positive OPK on CD14 (last Friday), which is a week earlier than my “normal” lately. But whatever, I went with it and DH and I did our thing. Friday night I spotted bright red very briefly after we BD’d, and then all weekend I continued to see dark brown/black spotting but only when I wiped, never more than that. Seeing as this was early and I was worried I didn’t actually ovulate, I decided to get another digital OPK and started testing again Saturday, CD15. Well today on CD17 I got a flashing smiley (not a solid peak LG surge smiley, an elevated estrogen blinking smiley). Does this mean I really didn’t ovulate? Or could my post-ovulation hormones be elevated enough that the OPK shows higher levels of hormones?

For those of you who read through that and actually understood what I’m trying to say, you’re my hero.

I totally hear ya. In fact, every time I woke up last night, I had a rush of baby thoughts in my head. It doesn’t help that I am currently weaning myself off Zoloft in preparation of pregnancy.

Have either of you guys tried Guided Meditation/ Imagery? You can find tons of videos on youtube. They are amazing for relaxing and getting back into the present moment…in one of my favorites, you imagine you are in a field of lavender. I even have my class do them sometime (shorter ones) when they are really squirrely and I want them to calm down.

I have seen a few posts where women who were hypervigilant about testing, temping and stressed out by it decided to not care for one month and let the chips fall where the may and they got PG…I am sure it is a biological response for primitive famines, etc.

phoebephoebo:  The movie didn’t get good reviews and if you do check it out, you may hate it, but it was one of the first foreign films that I saw and I enjoyed it.

I read another statistic (I promise I am not that person,) but I keep finding interesting stuff. I read that one fertility clinic increased it’s success rate by 50% afer they had women lie down for 30 minutes after insemination. Now, I don’t know if insemination is biologically different as I know your own body prepares during BD, but this is enough for me to do it during my FW.

Nic01:  lol ohhh google.

Just chillin at 5dpo. FF tried to change my crosshairs making me only 3DPO but i was like no. I understood why, but i really disagreed so i switched a negative OPK (which was very close to positive) to a positive so i got my solid crosshairs.

No symptoms. No nothing. And i have a baby shower this weekend right when i should be testing!

So I took last month off from POAS as BFN’s are getting harder and harder, but I’m a glutton for punishment and actually feeling more positive this month.  So here I am.  Hmfp.

Roll call!

Current Cycle Day/DPO: CD18/3 DPO (but I think FF is wrong and I may be 4-5dpo)

Ovulation Date: March 21

POAS Date/Usual Cycle Length:  April 5

Cycles Trying: BFP Plan (BD timing, supplements, etc.): 11 cycles.  BD eod, prenatals, synthroid, opk’s, preseed.  Fertilaid, CountBoost and MotilityBoost for DH.

Link to Chart, if any: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/mrsbananas

What are you going to do to ENJOY this month aside from TTC? Over Easter weekend we are renovating our only bathroom.  New flooring, baseboards, paint, decor, toilet, vanity, sink and hardware.  Looking forward to it as it’s long overdue and will keep my mind off of POAS.

What’s your favourite movie, and why?   Oooh, so many.  Beaches, Love Actually, 50 First Dates, Top Gun.  As you can see, I’m pretty cheesy.

I need some OPK help….

Got a smiley face yesterday on ym OPK allong with MASSIVE O cramps. Now…I thought you were supposed to get a positive on the OPKs for two days in a row then, am I wrong? Just took another OPK test and it was negative. With the positive test yesterday, FF sets my O date as today…but with my negaitve OPK test today – did I O yesterday??

BDing tonight just in case, but this is so confusing!

b00kbug:  Which brand test are you using? The Clearblue digitals show positive as a solid (not flashing smiley). If you got the solid smiley, it would stay put on your monitor for 48 hours not allowing you to retest. That aside, everyone’s surge is different, some being quicker than others, but a positive OPK is showing you the time right before you ovulate, not exactly when you did. So if you got a positive yesterday, and a negative today, I would venture to say that you ovulated early this morning. Cramps can come before, during, or after ovulation so it’s tough to rely on those, but at least you can say it happened around the last day or so. If you BD anywhere between like two-three days ago up until today you should have great timing. BD BD BD!

ajillity81:  I totally understand how frustrating it is to try to schedule appointments around your cycle but I wouldn’t worry about it too much.  If DH’s test come back good, and you want to send yourself for tests it may be too late for this upcoming cycle to get them all done.  And if AF does comes early, it looks like you may miss out on day 3 blood work but there is also day 21 that you would for surely be able to do.  Day 3 can be done next cycle.  And depending on how indepth you want to go right off the bat, you would miss the opportunity to do an HSG (usually day 10 but booked on day 1).  But that is a super invasive test and not usually the first test ordered.  You can also go for a pelvic ultrasound at anytime too.

I’ve just started the testing route of things and have quickly realized that things do not move as quickly as I would have hoped.  I don’t want to be Debbie Downer but you may have to get through a cycle or two before everything is ‘checked off’. Fingers crossed that you get your BFP before you have to look into getting these tests done!
